If your destination is UOT area or nearby, then this residence is a nice choice. The price is so attractive in the summer since most students are away. The only inconvenience is that the washroom is not private, and a little uncomfortable to take a shower according to my experience.

The staff is extremely nice, helpful and welcoming! The residence is well-equipped with a room for your luggages, a kitchen with a microwave... Besides, the wifi is amazing and the rooms are clean and spacious (with a GREAT view) Unfortunately, the WCs are not clean and won't suit you if you like intimacy... Highly recommended, especially for students on a...

Other than the beds being rock hard, this was a great place to stay in Toronto. Close to the subway, secure, well lit and staff were very friendly and helpful. Parking lot was close by. Rooms and washrooms were clean. Wifi worked well. Towels and soap provided.

The family all stayed here for four nights. Location is very central and budget priced. Hardly ever in the room anyway so why pay a lot for a room? Cleaning of bathrooms could happen a little more often but just make sure you take shower shoes with you and it's fine!

Even if University of Toronto is located 35 minutes from CN Tower we can say it is basically downtown. You can see the way to accommodation a lot of other great places and shops. I definitely recommend. But this accomodation is not for everyone.

I stayed here during the student's summer break so the building was very quiet. Also clean, practical and in a good location. The only thing that let it down was the optional dinners provided by the university ($7). One set meal that was bland and over cooked, definitely not worth the cost. But apart from that I would recommend the...

This is a college dorm, so do not expect a hotel experience. That said, there are definitely occasions when this place can come in handy. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful; the front desk is open 23 hours a day (closed for one hour in the small hours of the morning). There is a place to store luggage...

The rooms barely contain furniture, but who needs more than a bed, closet and desk anyway. There is free wifi (I think it is new summer 2016) and airconditioning at three different speeds. Check-in desk is open 23 hours per day and the staff is very friendly. Great place if you want to discover the city and don't mind student-style...

New College is a student dorm open to everyone in summer time, 1st come 1st serve. Centrally located. Single rooms, non-student $47+tax, shared baths, 80Mb/s wifi (hot! hot! hot!), $7 cafeteria breakfast, only $32/night if you stay >5 nights. You might be thinking: since it's run by the government, what could go wrong?! Well, everything. Poor climate control, that's a...

Its location is very good, close to Chinatown and Kensington Market where I ate almost everyday while I was in downtown Uof T. Even though there was nobody to make the bed or to throw away the garbage in the room, I always did that myself during my stay. My room was very comfortable, I really love it. I even...

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
