Wanted to love this charming boutique hotel but not allowing for independent temperature control in guest rooms meant that we were sweating through a chilly February night. We could not get the room under 80 degrees, no a/c, no open windows. Rooms were small but charming. Main hotel area is full of character. I guess if you don't mind the...

The staff at this hotel we're nothing but helpful and courteous from the outset. They arranged a delayed arrived with no hassle and were very accommodating. The rooms in the hotel were on the small side especially when we had to fit in large suitcases into the room! The bathroom was clean however the shower was too small and almost...

I was intrigued by the appearance and location of this hotel and booked it for a really quick one night business trip. It is so cool!! Apparently it is the oldest hotel in Toronto. As well as home to the oldest elevator. Judging by its age, I expected it to be noisy and creaky but was pleasantly surprised with how...

This past weekend we stayed at the Gladstone for my daughter's wedding. We were very pleased with every aspect of the place...service from staff, bar and food quality, and the ambiance. We would highly recommend this hotel for an event, or just a one-off stay.

Very clean room and warm, liked the hardwood floors, no rugs. Also, the white comforters made the room look clean and crisp. The room was interesting, nothing like I've seen before, very tastefully done.

Went for an artshow (come up to my room 2017) and enjoyed looking into the rooms - all decorated differently. If you want to experience a really cool area of Toronto, and don't mind not being right downtown, highly recommend this place.

Love the uniqueness of this hotel. Booking early to ensure your choice of room would be important as they are busy. Art shows on the different level or other shows in the building are constantly rotating so never a dull moment here.

I did enjoy my stay here for one night.. The elevator in the hotel is antique, works well and is really cool. The onsite restaurant was also very good. The desk staff was not so attentive, but the location and the esthetics of the hotel were good. Our room was quite small, but it is an old hotel

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
The go-to area for new business start-ups, the spry and creative persona of the West End thrives along its streets. Its independent boutiques, galleries, restaurants, and shops offer brands that can't be found elsewhere. Buildings with ground floor consumer spaces sport up-top artist's lofts, and the West End attracts artists, designers, and fashion industry professionals to its living quarters. It is in the cross-hairs of gentrification, but still resisting it with ironic relish. Hot deals can still be found here on furniture and knick-knacks,. Its call to culinary glory is in its well-priced homemade Polish food, hosting Toronto's go-to spots for hot pierogis and cold borscht. High Park, the largest green space in the city, is a place for dreamers and poets to wander and rest, not to mention a number of energetic actors staging outdoor plays in the summertime.
