Loved the "vibe" at the Gladstone! There was always something interesting going on in every part of the hotel. The staff were enthusiastic, friendly and helpful. Our themed "Art Nouveau" room was small but very functional and clean. Overall a very enjoyable experience.

Stay here because you want a more unique travel experience. Individually designed rooms. Bath area is small but very functional. Staff is great. Wish I had more time to experience the neighborhood. Wifi was no issue. Art exhibit happening on same day as I checked in - so busy. But quiet upstairs once the event was over.

We had a very enjoyable 4 night stay over Easter weekend. The 1800s hotel is beautifully restored, maintaining much of the old character, including the creaky sloping wood floors and the original wooden, brass and glass elevator. Each room is differently decorated in a funky style, comfortable, clean and bright. The rooms are smallish as is typical in an older...

The hotel has an wesome decor in every single room. Is not close to downtown but streetcar 501 can take you with no problem. Rooms are very quiet. We didn't have any problems at all. The hotel is perfect.

The rooms were comfortable and clean. It was nice to meet casually with family and friends in the lobby area on each floor, and the complimentary coffee was a nice touch. The food at the wedding we attended was very good. The menu in the bar was somewhat limited, and the breakfasts were ordinary.

I found this hotel rich in history. The front desk clerks went over and beyond to help us during our stay. As we entered the lift, his knowledge and his love for his job came alive. I held on to each word as he spoke to us. It was so refreshing!! Great vibe, great staff! Would go back in a...

Very enjoyable stay. Old historical hotel with a modern artsy vibe. We were there for a provincial soccer tryout and ask to switch rooms so my daughter could be assured of a good night's sleep. Well Dan the porter (I think) could not have been more accommodating as he switched our room to a quieter part of the hotel. Not...

We came for a 24 hour visit to see Toronto. We loved the Gladstone because it immediately gave us a flavor of the area and the staff was outstanding. The hotel was unique, charming and very fun. We love the coffee provided in the morning and all of the art exhibits. The staff was tremendously helpful and warm.

I travel a fair bit for business and tire of the same old, same old. While beds and televisions sizes differ, most hotels offer the same bland product. The Gladstone is different. Not only is it right in the action--teetering on the edge of a gentrifying neighbourhood and eclectic bars and diners, the rooms and common areas reflect the throbbing...

Loved the feel of this hotel. Big staircase, wide hallways, art galleries, happening Bar with live entertainment. Food was excellent in both restaraunts. In hip area of Toronto. Room (Rm 415) was clean and artistic. We had view of the skyline including CN tower. Open lounge area on each floor in centre so you can easily hear people talking from...

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
The go-to area for new business start-ups, the spry and creative persona of the West End thrives along its streets. Its independent boutiques, galleries, restaurants, and shops offer brands that can't be found elsewhere. Buildings with ground floor consumer spaces sport up-top artist's lofts, and the West End attracts artists, designers, and fashion industry professionals to its living quarters. It is in the cross-hairs of gentrification, but still resisting it with ironic relish. Hot deals can still be found here on furniture and knick-knacks,. Its call to culinary glory is in its well-priced homemade Polish food, hosting Toronto's go-to spots for hot pierogis and cold borscht. High Park, the largest green space in the city, is a place for dreamers and poets to wander and rest, not to mention a number of energetic actors staging outdoor plays in the summertime.
