This was our first B&B experience and it turned out very well. We looked for traditional hotels close to Cabbagetown (we were visiting our son) but didn't find anything that appealed to us. Our daughter sent us this suggestion and we took a chance. Turned out to be a great decision. Jamie is a charming host who really added that...

What a great find. Our first stay at A Seaton Dream B&B will not be our last. Jamie is an excellent host. Friendly, helpful, accommodating and a great conversationalist and listener. In addition, Jamie prepared creative and delicious breakfasts. We felt like we were staying at a good friends house. Parking was provided but we mostly walked to our destinations. We...

My ultimate favorite B&B I ever stayed in. Located in CabbageTown, close to shopping, activities & fun. We stayed on the middle floor the Decor inside was so amazing and creative. Jen & her husband were so nice & helpful with everything. I would stay here again and again.

We spent 3 nights at A Seaton Dream in the Retreat Room. It was completely clean and comfortable. The downstairs room was very private and quiet. Breakfasts were excellent, the accommodations equally so. We parked on the street each night. The neighborhood is quiet; the street is an historic district of houses, each unique and well kept. Thank you to...

A Seaton Dream is centrally located in downtown Toronto. We walked everywhere from the B&B. Little Italy, Little Portugal, the distillery, harborfront and Union Station. Although we did not use public transportation, we noticed the streetcar stop not far from the B&B. We stayed in the East Wing room because we wanted the private balcony to have wine and relax...

This is our second week-long stay here. Jaimie is an excellent host--friendly, able to give advice, and more like a friend than anything else. He also cooks amazing breakfasts, which vary every day. The main thing you notice is that the entire place is spotless--you have to take your shoes off at the door to keep it that way. It's...

We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay. Our room was clean and quiet with a lovely balcony on which to relax after a hard day site-seeing. The location is perfect - not too far from downtown Toronto and in an eclectic and peaceful area. Breakfasts were superb and the host, Jamie, very welcoming and helpful.

Jamie was a great host in every way. The house was clean and as advertised - our room was very nice too! Our breakfasts were fantastic and the conversation even better! We felt like we talked his ear off, but we enjoyed every minute of it. For us, it was better than a hotel b/c of the personal service and...

We spent three nights in two of Jamie's B&B rooms upstairs, and the experience was wonderful. Tasteful decorations, very clean rooms and bathrooms, gracious, welcoming host, and delicious home-cooked breakfasts - a different offering each morning. Jaime provided us with a thorough brief for visiting the sites of Toronto, and answered all our questions. B&B is located just a short...

Alan and Jamie will make you feel very welcome and at home in their B&B. We had the bedroom, with balcony at the back of the house which was so quiet and peaceful we almost forgot we were in the middle of a very large city. The house stands in a picturesque tree lined street of Victorian houses in Cabbagetown...

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
