I stayed here for three nights just last week. The downtown home is clean with a very friendly and accommodating staff. The breakfast provided has a wide variety of foods, all tasty. To pull it all together is the great location. Not too far and not too close to younge street/ younge Dundas square there are a plethora of food... More

I had a good stay at the Downtown Inn. Karem, the employee, was very helpful and communicative. The breakfast was self - serve. Coffee, tea, cold drinks, fruit, and sweet snacks available all the time. The location is right downtown, close to restaurants, shops, and the Wellesley subway. It faces Barbara Hall Park, which houses the AIDS Memorial. Everything is... More

A nice place, great location in the Toronto gay village, very close to the down town, just 15 minutes walking, Friendly staff, nice breakfast every day prepared by Karin, and comfortable rooms.... Some of the furniture was a bit old but great value per money... Many places for dinner and fun in the neibourghood ...

This is the first time I used a Bed and Breakfast facility, I have only used regular hotel whenever I travel. I am so happy to make this choice. I have heard a lot of bad things about BnB, the dirty room, the noisy situation and the dirty kitchen and bathroom, etc. None of these occurred in my stay in... More

Centrrally located within easy reach of the subway, restaurants and a supermarket; clean rooms, quiet, very good breakfast. Stayed here four times, would do so again! Great communication.Could not have been much better, particularly considering the cost.

Stayed only for a night. Was upgraded to a room with a terrace. We didn't stay out much as it was winter. Room was small but cozy. Shared bathroom on the highest floor was smaller compared to the rest. Breakfast had a really good spread of breads, bagels and many others. Much more than a typical B&B. The narrow staircase... I stayed here for 5days and absolutely loved it. Located right in Downtown with reasonable price. Free breakfast and there is alway fruits or some kind of munches. This is real home living. Very clean and all you can eat breakfast. Karen, the manager is just awesome. He checks every detail when it comes to cleanliness and you see him... More

You can't beat this place for location and convenience. I have stayed here 4 different times for weekend yoga conferences lasting 2 to 4 nights. I love the "home like" feel to the place rather than the big impersonal hotels around. I find it peaceful here. Rooms are very comfortable and clean. The morning breakfast is healthy with yogurt and... More

Super clean and comfortable, staff very friendly and helpful! I was a bit worried about the shared bathroom concept, but they were always available, well maintained and super clean, although the place was fully booked!

My daughter and I stayed 3 nights at this B&B. The manager, Karem, was welcoming, hospitable and very friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable and the room and bathroom were kept clean. It was nice to have use of the kitchen any time of day and there was always fruit and snacks available any time. We will certainly come... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
