What can I say? Reception/check in staff good. But the whole building and rooms are GRIM. I had a double bed room. Small. I mean, very small. Trying to think of a better description but GRIM is all I can say. It's meant to be a Howard Johnson brand perception. Breakfast - standard cereals, hot drinks motel type menu -...

Terrible experience. Avoid at all cost. This hotel is way too expensive for experience we had. I would be asking for a refund

This hotel is the filthiest place I've ever seen. I was so disgusted with how dirty it was, people smoking in hallways and there was even an individual with a bong. There was what appeared to be blood on the floor. It's in a bad neighbourhood, no parking available. I ended up leaving and staying elsewhere, the desk staff weren't...

If I could give a 0 out of 5 I would! This is my second stay with this hotel and the experience was terrible. I will never come back!!!! I bought a NON-SMOKING double bed room, (207 if that helps anyone) and as we walked into our room the smell of stale smoke was unbearable! It was like having your...

This place is very decent. Location is perfect, lots of restaurants, shopping, bars etc. Right on Queen Street. Bad reviews for this place goes to show you how fussy online review writers are. I had to chime in. It's actually NOT that loud, and what do you expect, it's downtown Toronto? There IS lots of affordable parking, just need to...

From a traveller thay goes a fair number of hotels and restaurants I have to say this is the Worst hotel I have stayed in. Flash to the 70's and floors are so stained it makes me wonder if I should be even taking my shoes off. Looking at the pictures the rooms looked spacious but this room is long...

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
The go-to area for new business start-ups, the spry and creative persona of the West End thrives along its streets. Its independent boutiques, galleries, restaurants, and shops offer brands that can't be found elsewhere. Buildings with ground floor consumer spaces sport up-top artist's lofts, and the West End attracts artists, designers, and fashion industry professionals to its living quarters. It is in the cross-hairs of gentrification, but still resisting it with ironic relish. Hot deals can still be found here on furniture and knick-knacks,. Its call to culinary glory is in its well-priced homemade Polish food, hosting Toronto's go-to spots for hot pierogis and cold borscht. High Park, the largest green space in the city, is a place for dreamers and poets to wander and rest, not to mention a number of energetic actors staging outdoor plays in the summertime.
