I just returned from an overnight trip to Toronto Toronto for business. Myself and three coworkers stayed at the Strathcona hotel. The main lobby was very bright and welcoming. The rooms were quite small but quaint at the same tim. They made very good use of the space. The bathrooms are quite small but enough for a single or couple. The... More

Love this little hotel, rooms are small but all that you need. Location is great. Easy to park, the valet hours were a little limited, we arrived by 2 pm and valet wasn't available. They really need to offer free wifi, feels like a real cash grab to make you pay for wifi access.

We stay here a few times a year when in the city for a sporting event, concert, etc. The rooms are small but super clean and cozy. The staff are always knowledgeable and friendly. One of my favorite things about the room is the full size bottles of shampoo, conditioner, etc so you don't have to drag anything along and... More

Loved this room! We reserved the executive king room. It was very clean and bright with hardwood floors, a small desk area and ample sized bathroom. The view was non existent as we looked out into the back side of the hotel, however we were only there at night so weren't concerned. Only complaint was very noisy neighbors however the... More

This trip and stay was excellent. No issues with the room or wi-fi access. The room was clean and ambiance music (clock radio). When I came in. The only issue was that the restaurant was not open downstairs.

Hotel was lovely and obviously newly renovated. A block from Union station to boot. Room was small but clean and the furniture fit the room very well. Bed was very comfortable. Would definitely book on our next weekend trip. Only bad thing is the walls seem to be paper thin as we could hear neighbors carrying on and doors slamming.... More

Clean, great sheets, pillows & bed! We were able to access our room one hour earlier, they had friendly staff, fast elevators, were well located & well priced & all smoke free! They do have a free wifi code that we had to phone down to get. Would stay there again :)

Staying in Downtown West

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
