I had the pleasure of staying at this B & B while coming to Toronto. I had a limited budget and found a room for 2 nights. When I initially inquired I was quickly responded to online by the owner who provided me with every piece of detail in one email. There is a small room for $60 per night...

Thank you Dave and Emilia that helped me a lot. I felt like in home. There is market place, restaurants and drugstore near Mcgiil. It is a amazing place to stay, The breakfast is perfect, and If you prefer there is Starbucks and Tim Hortons near, about 3 minutes. The yellow room is very big, confortable and clean.

Everything about this place is great! The best thing ever is the location. You can't be any closer to all the important things in T. The cute and great restaurants are just up the road. A fabulous grocery store Loblaws is literally 2 min away. The coffee shop just one road up is owned by the best barrista in this...

Bedrooms were cozy, clean, & comfortable. The B&B owner was very accommodating and hospitable. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

The house is in a great location and really nice and quaint. You really feel at home. The only thing we didn't like is that we stayed in the white room, which has its own bathroom (yah!) and the furnace is off of this room. The first night we were so tired it didn't bother us but the second night...

Really nice place - retains a lot of the building's original charm while integrating modern conveniences. Both the host and his assistant are incredibly friendly and helpful. Excellent location as well. You're only two blocks from the Yonge-University subway line, plus you're within walking distance of the gay village, Yonge-Dundas Square and even Chinatown (if you're feeling active). The breakfast...

What a great place this is. House on McGill makes you feel you have your own home in Toronto. It looks beautiful, it's clean, and a great price for what you get. Dave is your friendly host who supplies you with endless supplies of jelly beans when necessary. Thanks for everything Dave!

I stayed in House on McGill for 4 days in August 2011 and can really recommend it. It has lovely, well-kept and clean rooms. It is fairly central, close to public transport and in a quiet side street. It is a tall building, so one has to go up and down all the time, and some rooms have to share...

Of all the places I've stayed in Toronto this was the best and in the future it will always be my first choice. Bed and BREAKFAST is an understatement. Breakfast has 5 different cereals, 4 types of bread, bagels, 4 to 5 differnt fruit juices, variety of real fruit, variety of muffins, cakes, strudel, coffe tea hot chocolate, etc, etc, You definitely will...

I have stayed at Dave's house several times now, and plan on staying the remainder of my school year. As an out of town grad student this home is a perfect location for me, and provides a relaxing, cozy, quiet atmosphere to study and rest. This B and B has everything you need, and Dave is very helpful to provide...

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
