What this building used to be is public housing. Now in private hands, they rent out hotel rooms. Cool. Except they also rent out rooms to those public housing in need people, so you are in the middle of hotel and public housing. That being said, this is a very inexpensive alternative to the egregious pricing that Toronto now sees,...

My boyfriend and I were on a one night getaway....we're on student budgets so this was perfect. Room was clean, staff was very friendly, building was not sketchy like some that we had looked at. Parking definitely a plus. Definitely will stay again if in Toronto!

My friend and I were on a student budget so at the time this was perfect for what we wanted. Our main requirements was no shared bathroom and clean. This ticked both boxes. Icing on the cake was the location which was good to explore the city.

About 5 minutes of walking to the chinatown with cheap parking. It's not too expensive, but the cleanliness was poor. The room smell bad (probably because of the really old carpet) and had to buy a "Frebreze" to get rid of the strong smell. They might try to charge you extras when booking online if you are not careful. Other...

Thanks for the review. We are sorry there were issues with the cleaning during your stay here. We replace carpets regularly and try to ensure a good standard of cleaning. The only extra charges a guest may have to pay are car parking fees and telephone charges. We try hard to keep our prices the same across all websites. Thanks...

This basic hotel has a lot going for it........the location is great for getting around Toronto with a pleasant park adjacent. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the price is very reasonable. Rooms are basic but clean and comfortable with everything you need for a short stay. Rooms with numbers ending 09 or above have views across the...

Was thrilled to find this hotel for my short stay downtown with a friend and my significant other. Made for an excellent base camp with a short walk to Queen west and anywhere else you'd want to check out. Parking was plentiful and no extra charge. Bring ear plugs because it backs on to a park that can be noisy....

I stayed at Alexandra hotel in September 2016, and I was in a little studio with my gf. The hotel is located 5 minutes walk from Kensington Market, and Chinatown. It is a very conveninet place for shopping and food (I found a lot of vegan). The area itself looks nice and quite safe, even at night. To get downtown...

Thank you for the detailed review of the Alexandra Hotel. I'm happy to hear you found the rooms comfortable and enjoyed exploring the Market and Chinatown, they are certainly some of the more vibrant neighbourhoods in the downtown area! Hope you can stay with us again.

Easy to get around for here, lots of shops and restaurants nearby. Very old basic room with small kitchenette. Older ensuite too. Clean but some weird smell- ??? Air freshener. We left the window open all the time which helps. A/c isn't great, only on or off, can't control temp at all.

Thanks for taking the time to review our hotel. Our maintenance and Front Desk staff can adjust the A/C, but for safety reasons we don't allow guests to do it since it can be tricky.
