Best hotel for family vacation with young kids. From the moment you step into the lobby your kids will feel like royalty: special kids check in gifts, great indoor pool with huge tube slide, kid and teen club rooms, special meals, etc. Not only that, but it is smack bang in the middle of Yonge and Dundas. Enjoy!

Fantastic location in the heart of downtown Toronto. Check in was very quick, and the staff were friendly and efficient. The lobby was very busy, like Grand Central, but there were about 6 people working to check guests into rooms, so no significant wait time. The hotel is HUGE with multiple wings. The hallways are long, and rooms can be...

This hotel should be condemned!! Horrible mould in my room and bed bugs!! Disgraceful for a world class city such as Toronto!! I think people should research the negative comments on this hotel and stay far away!!

It is clearly an older hotel but it makes up for it with friendly staff and a prime downtown location close to entertainment venues we wanted to see. The room was larger than average. For some reason ice cold air was blowing down the hallway. It was -30C outside and it felt like air was being pumped in without heating....

It's old. The bathroom is falling apart. The carpet is worn down. Long wait times to get service. Wifi very intermittent and required us calling the front desk several times to have it fixed. It always felt overcrowded and loud. Location is good. Overall it was overpriced and underwhelming.

This hotel has a great location and is clean and comfortable for the most part. The price makes it very appealing and for that I would say it's a good choice for a Toronto stay. The staff are not very knowledgeable and did not go out the way to help with any extras, but all in all it was a...

Typical very good North American Hotel. Our room was dated but was spotlessly clean with two very comfortable large double beds for my daughter and i. Its in a good location less than 5 minutes walk from Yonge Street and the Eaton Shopping Centre - which is well worth a visit. All of the Hotel staff including the bar staff...

We were visiting Toronto to see the John Cougar Mellancamp concert on May 1. Stayed 3 nights at the Chelsea with another couple. Had rooms on the 17th floor. Hotel is older but clean. Our room had a queen bed, wet bar and fridge. Bed was comfy. No coffee maker but a kettle with coffee in bags like tea. Very...

I liked this hotel and would consider staying there again. It is definitely central to many sights in Toronto and close to public transportation. The hotel appears to be in the midst of some upgrades and I heard some construction noises one morning and saw several plastic wrapped mattresses on balconies. The rooms were very nice, but the hallways are...

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
