The Chelsea Hotel is very busy with airline staff as well as tourists, and the lobby was constantly buzzing. The room was well maintained but small and with tiny windows, so there is no wow factor here. But convenient, and quiet in the bustling heart of town. The wifi is very, very, very, very slow.

The hotel is very central and just opposite a few good restaurants. When we arrived, they 'offered' us the option to upgrade to a better room and access to the E- lounge where they serve complimentary breakfast and evening snacks. This is located on the top floor and offers fantastic views of the city. The breakfast is continental but offers...

Just spent 2 days at the Chelsea. We found the hotel to be very pleasant. We did not use any of the amenities but the room was comfortable and quite and the beds great. Be aware that parking is underneath and is old and in poor condition. Also parking is about $37/day (Canadian). Even though the hotel had free wifi,...

My colleagues and I have stayed at the Chelsea every time we have a meeting for years. However, this will be the last time. We are changing hotels. The breakfast in the Market Garden is unreasonably expensive, especially when you're on a per diem. And when I tried to take a pastry with me because I was in a hurry,...

Hotel is very big. It is divided by sections &colours-red, green and blue. I was in green which happens to be the one that was most recetly updated 2.5 years ago. I was on the side of the hall that was most recent. See pic of room. Nowhere near what could be called a modern room espcially considering the price...

Was in Toronto to attend Lockwood Clinic for diagnostic testing. Chelsea is only 1 block away, close to many different eating establishments, and just a short jaunt to downtown. Accommodations were exceptionally clean (especially the pool areas and change room facilities).

We stayed at this hotel because we are 1865 members and collect upgrade points. Our upgrade gave us a one bedroom suite with full kitchen on the top floor. Appreciated the space but this hotel, or at least our section, is in desperate need of a makeover. Disgusting old carpet and altogether extremely dated! The internet was sporadic and technical...

Nice staff. Very clean hotel and comfortable. Will stay again as it is very central. There was a minor issue with the bathroom and the Manager was very kind and dealt with the problem above and beyond my expectation. Would stay there again for sure.

This is a great hotel for families in a very expensive city, it's located near the hop on hop off bus tours and large shopping centre. Great hotel for kids with swimming pool and play room. We had evening meals in the hotel which gave a good selection of food on offer at reasonable prices. Stopped on 18th floor.

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
