Rooftop terrace was the biggest selling feature for me when choosing a downtown Toronto hotel and it did not disappoint. Staff were really friendly, rooms were clean, lots to do within walking distance and the breakfast was great.

Great saltwater pool and rooftop hot tub. Can be a bit of a party place on Fridays and Saturdays. Good restaurant, nice buffet breakfast, nice suites. We have been here many times and we recommend it,

Four of us stayed in the 2 bedroom suite that also had a sofa bed in the living area. Large private balcony. Wood floors, very clean, nice kitchen. Beds were very comfortable. Breakfast buffet (included) was delicious - a nice selection of hot foods, and very nice dining area, and beautiful lounge and rooftop area. Parking in hotel garage worked... More

The Grand Hotel is charming and has an Achilles heel- the neighbourhood. it is close to many sights in the city and a short walk from major strips- but the neighbourhood makes it lose marks. The rooms are nice and clean. The staff is nice and knowledgable. The shuttles are helpful. The neighbourhood is awful. Lots of street action and... More

I've stayed at this hotel several time and each time was exquisite. Jump in the hot tubs on the roof while you watch the big screen tv and sip on a drink. They have a lovely indoor pool as well. The atmosphere of this place is my favourite. Very European. The staff are always friendly and cater to your needs.... More

We had the 2 bedroom suite with a balcony and it was very Nice. Full kitchen. Really loved the roof top. The buffet for breakfast was ok. Not the best but good enough. The pool was nice as well. Would recommend it for a family visit. Get the hotel to book you reservations at the keg mansion. Great restaurant.

My long time GF and I found this hotel early April. We NEVER visited the country before nor traveled internationally before. But one thing is for sure, we wanted a convenient location, free wi-fi, free breakfast, and the luxury feeling. We got ALL of those. The hotel staff were SUPER friendly. Made you feel welcomed. Our TV in the living... More

We spend 3 nights at Grand Hotel as part of a family vacation. The room/suit is very nice and for my 2 kids, age 6 and 9, the sofa bed was sufficient space but for slightly older children it may be problematic to sleep a full 2+2 family. We loved the hotel, the pool is very nice and well organised... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
