Very cool place. We had a 2 bedroom room and it was great for our family. Make sure you go up on the roof at night and check out the 80's videos playing above the hot tubs. Beautiful indoor pool and hotel shuttle available. Everyone was extremely friendly and we would stay again. Get to the free breakfast early, as...

Grand little hotel. The decor of this hotel is very elegant and the rooms, although small are cute and comfortable. There is a small but bright kitchenette with a fridge and microwave. The rooftop spa area is classy with awesome views of the city. The breakfast is generous with hot and cold items. Right downtown within walking distance of transportation,...

This is a popular hotel with Canadians who live outside of Toronto as it has parking and prices are reasonable. The location is questionable (unsafe) as the back of the hotel and street bordering (Sherbourne) is one of the worst streets downtown. Do not walk by yourself at night... The rooms are basic but nice and renovated. In our 2...

The Grand is a gorgeous hotel and quite reasonable considering the location. The rooftop jacuzzi and the view are amazing! There's also a large projector screen which plays the videos of the music playing, which is retro but very cool. The hallways and lobby are beautiful. The rooms are very minimalist with the fixtures, beds and appliances needing updating quite soon....

Grand Hotel is beautiful. From the moment you walk into the lobby to the moment you turn the handle to your room, the hotel is gorgeous. Our room was spacious, with a separate living area with sofa sleeper and tv, small kitchenette with fridge, sink, and microwave. We had a nice view of part of the city skyline. The rooftop...

Me and my husband stayed here for two nights for our honeymoon and when we came for check-in the staff in reception and the bellman where very pleasant. They upgraded us to a suite with jacuzzi on the 9th floor and left a nice gift in the room for us. The room was very nice. Also, the spa on the...

My wife and I chose the Grand Hotel for an extended weekend getaway and loved every minute. The style and comfort of our 18th floor suite was perfect. The view of downtown only added to our experience. The amenities of the hotel exceeded our expectations. The buffet breakfast was a great way to start each day and the roof top...

Great hotel in the heart of the city! Easy walking distance to the shops and restaurants. We pretty much walked everywhere, even down to the dock to visit Toronto Islands! By the way this is a must see while you are in the city! They did offer shuttle buses but we always preferred to walk so we could explore the...

This one keeps me coming back over and over again! Roof top hot tubs with big screen. Indoor pool and gym facilities. Free American Buffet is above your average continental breakfast! Close to transit, shopping and St. Lawrence Market.

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
