I stayed three nights at The Rex. What a great hotel in a great location, right downtown! My room was clean, comfortable and quiet. The location is within walking distance of sights like the CN Tower, the St. Lawrence Market, Kensington Market, the Art Gallery, and it’s right on funky Queen street itself! The Rex is my new go-to hotel...

We stopped here on a Sunday afternoon. We caught the tail end of a set of Dixieland jazz and stayed for some mainstream Jazz afterwards. The place was pleasantly crowded with a cordial and attentive folks. The service staff seemed stretched to the max and service was a bit slow but the prices were good and worth the wait. We...

We were here for a 1 night layover between flights (Toronto Island Airport). Because of our late evening arrival we had to check in with assistance from the bar doorman . Very friendly and efficient. The room was exactly what I want .... clean , no frills and fair priced . The music in the bar is superb jazz. Breakfast...

This hotel, is downtown, yet sleeping (second floor) was no problem as far as sound goes. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the atmosphere is just great. Of course this a jazz/blues bar/hotel and they are packed with performances at a reduced fee for guests of the hotel . We enjoyed a great breakfast here as well, they...

The bands are great, the food tasty (even breakfast), location super for shopping and near the subway. The rooms are like hostel rooms, small and don't judge to harshly. It is great fun to watch a band and then just wander up to bed at the end of the night - no cab necessary. There is a great bakery near...

I have to admit I enjoyed the stay in the Rex Hotel although I would not describe the whole experience as a good value for money. In other words it is expensive for what you get. The location is perfect as I love shopping on Queen Street, but that comes with the high level of street noises until late. The...

We went for the 7:30 show. Make sure you get there around 6:30 or it may be hard to get a table. We had mixed reviews of our food. One of us had a beef burger and fries and was very satisfied. One of us had the veggie burger. The bun and burger were burned yet the burger was cold...

A great breakfast for under $12 total omelet, sausage, potatoes, toast, coffee and it all tastes good! They have a good lunch and dinner as well. Usually in the afternoon you get to enjoy live jazz almost every day.
