We were excited about the prospect of spending the night at a historic inn in downtown Stratford. While the location was great for walking to local restaurants, shopping and theatres, we were disappointed to find that the rooms were a bit on the shabby side. The bed was comfortable and clean, but the furniture was the cheap plastic veneered type...

We recently stayed here to go see a play at Stratford. I had read some of the negative reviews but the location was too good to pass. Glad I did. It is not fancy or recently updated . The room is not large but had a bed, bathroom, tv AC. It was clean. I would stay here again. We parked...

Goodness! Such a terrible title. We stayed at the "otherwise pretty darn OK" Albert St. Inn during the bumpy change in ownership. Of course, it was during the fire alarm that we learned of the change. The employees leave at 8:00pm (we were told this at check-in). "What could go wrong?" we thought smugly. Things got a little dicey when,...

Arrival: Pleasant enough desk staff, but gave little information about the hotel. Room: There were no staff at the desk, possibly in the hotel, from 8:00 pm to 8:00 am. The room had a queen size bed, dilapidated furniture and less than 12 inches between the bed and the walls, and the bed and the dresser at the end. It...

We decided to stay here after booking tickets for Mother Courage (a great, thought provoking show.) The room was booked through Expedia. The price was quite reasonable for a room in Stratford at this time of the year. The location of this place is great. It is one block from the main shopping district. I agree with some of the...

When you read the Web site you expect to stay in on if 34 classically styles rooms. This is the start of the lies. We arrived and our room keys were in a mail box with all the other guest keys. No staff working at 8pm. Just take the right keys and go to your room. Walk in and bam.......

The marketing says just renovated. Beautiful lobby but that's where it stops. Halls are dark, dingy, with stained ceilings and fluorescent light. Our room was at the end of a maze and absolutely the worst. Old soap left in the bathtub. Bugs on the floor. The room pictures at the top of these reviews say it all. Despite the great...

We booked a single night on expedia.ca and paid about $100 plus $9 for parking to attend the Stratford festival. The hotel's recent renovations mainly appear to be the addition of an elevator and paint. The rooms have a 1950's feel to them; the bathroom fixtures and tile would be comfortable in your grandmother's house. A thermostat in the room...

The only real positive thing to say about the Albert Street Inn was the proximity to the party we were attending the one night we stayed over. There isn't anything that can be done about the age of the hotel, so perhaps the creaky floors, tiny bathrooms, archaic plumbing and paper thin walls are to be expected, but the lack...

It's NOT ritzy with endless amenities (no room-service, Wi-Fi, wet bars, etc.). It IS a decent, clean, place to get a comfortable night's sleep at a reasonable rate after a long day at the festival. It’s an old building, with all the quirks of one. I found it quaint, perhaps even charming, for my 3 night stay. I read the...
