We really enjoyed our stay at the Montrose. The place is clean, well-maintained and has some beautiful details. The Innkeeper Suzette was very friendly and welcoming, always ready to help us with anything. The location was very convenient to explore the area - about a 30 minute drive to most wineries and to the small towns that make up the...

I have used their catering services and also stayed in the inn. Both times my expectations were more than exceeded. Roger, Suzette and Wren were such charming and gracious hosts. The rooms are stunning. I look forward to returning!

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Montrose. My husband and I spent one night and can't wait to return. We had a wonderful welcome to this beautiful, historic inn, and things only got better! Our room (the "Bernice") was cozy, clean, comfortable, and quiet. We enjoyed learning more about the fascinating history of the Montrose from our delightful hosts,...

Took my sister there for tea as a surprise for her! Lovely. The furnishings were beautiful and period - 100 year old building. The Christmas decorations added such a nice feel and the tea itself was delicious!!! Suzette, the hostess, was very pleasant and gracious!! Easy to get to - right on Hwy 2. Will definitely go back!!!!

Such a treat! We had lunch at the Montrose and it was such a wonderful experience! Lunch was simply delicious and Suzette and Roger are excellent hosts. It is a magical place and beautifully decorated. I came away wanting to arrange the next trip and the next with my friends and family. Thank you so much for a beautiful day....

Delightful surroundings, great service, a variety of delicious, home made, sandwiches and treats. Upon entering Montrose Inn, one feels like they are taking a step back into a more elegant, graceful time. The restored antiques, and graceful surroundings are complimented by the owner Suzette, who makes guest feel as special as the surroundings they are in. I took a group...

Truly an exceptional location, imagine waking up on a Savannah plantation, with sun streaming thru branches of the mature trees and walking out of your room on a veranda looking down on an impressive front lawn with a circular driveway. After a busy month I was looking for a place to relax and this was as perfect as possible, so...

I hate to be negative and have had wonderful experiences at all previous bed and breakfast locations in Europe, Canada, and the U.S. We were looking forward to our stay at Montrose Inn which indeed is charming, well located, well decorated, clean, and Suzette the owner warm and inviting. But in order of importance a hotel/motel/B&B must provide security, privacy,...

Eggs Benedict breakfast was amazing, very clean, bathroom tidy. We rented 2 rooms, both were nice. Huge veranda on front of the property was a pleasure to lounge in. Only minus was the heat and humidity managed with fans alone, would benefit from portable ac units.

Suzette spoiled all 7 of us. We were made to feel right at home the minute we drove in to park. Wow, ice tea served on the porch, which was then followed by our meal of regular (great tasting tea and I forgot to ask what the brand is, it was sooooo tasty!) and 4 different kinds of tiny sandwiches,...

Hi! Thank you for your kind words; so glad you enjoyed your Tea. The iced-tea was home-made...so I guess, brand name is Montrose Inn Iced Tea?? But, next time you visit, we'll give you the recipe! Cheers! Suzette & Roger Innkeepers

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Montrose Inn, one of the best examples of 'ante bellum' architecture in Ontario, was built in 1916 by Robert J. Graham, a prominent businessman and former mayor of Belleville, and remained in the family until the early 1980's. Montrose Inn invites you to journey back in time. From the first glimpse of this magnificent mansion through the stately gates and stone fence, visitors are welcomed by the well-manicured grounds and inviting verandas that grace the front of this stately home. Overlooking the beautiful Bay of Quinte, Montrose beckons you to enjoy the tranquility of a bygone era. ... more   less
