We spent 2 wonderful days enjoying this spectacular cliffside B and B. Pros. The views from the master suite especially are to die for. Just exquisite and there is a deck for everyone to enjoy , even the 2 rooms that face the back without direct views The interior is richly decorated with elaborate moldings and woodwork. The bedrooms have every amenity and the beds are super comfortable the sheets luxurious. We appreciated being the only ones in the house which made the stay extra special. We came off season and the weather was cooler The kitchen is wonderful and Diane the “hostess with mostest” prepares gourmet breakfasts in the morning. She is friendly, helpful and interesting to chat with. We highly recommend this b and b especially for couples it has the “ wow” factor and you will not be disappointed !

Comments extolling the architecture, design, view, and service are not exaggerated. This property is unique. Here are a couple of added comments. First, it's not in the village of Digby but about seven miles down the point. So, don't expect to walk to shops or restaurants. In fact, the best restaurant recommendation is a twenty minute drive and easy to miss in the dark. The dramatic house design features very high ceilings, so the stairway to the second floor is 25 steps, about twice the height of many home stairways. Not easy for some people, and a long climb with luggage. While two of the rooms enjoy a Magnificent ocean view, the East Room does not. A nearby sitting room and balcony compensate.

This place is all about the setting: both inside and outside. The panoramic view of the cliffs and the sea from the house is truly unique for the area. We stayed in the master suite 2 nights. It had a large balcony and looked out over the sea and the dramatic sunset. The room was large (25’x20’) with a king bed, large flat screen, 2 leather chairs, an armoire and bureau plus a gas fireplace. The last item was definitely not needed, though, as there was an unusual heat wave and there is no A/C in the house. There were plenty of windows and a fan, so it was only uncomfortable from about 4-8PM. The bathroom is large and well appointed. There is an over-size shower, but no tub. There were large containers of shampoo and shower gel, but no bar soap (these days we always travel with our own). There is a serious flight of stairs (25 steps) to get to the bedrooms so how much/how large your luggage is bears consideration. The main floor is enormous (about 70’/60’) and impressive. There is a great room with huge windows looking out at the sea, a library, a utility area, a large kitchen and a dining room (also with a great view). There is no/minimal cell service, but you have full access to the landline. Plus, the Wifi is excellent and you can do Skype calls. Diane, the proprietor, is delightful. She made a special trip to her house to bring us a bag of ice (got to have ice for the martinis). It’s about a 12-minute drive to the plentiful restaurants in Digby. Breakfast was bespoke: strawberries, orange juice, banana bread and a wonderful just-baked blueberry pancake.

As we drove down the long drive to Cliffside, we went wow, what are we coming to. Diane greeted us warmly and is so down to earth. We were shown where everything was and she did not hang about crowding us. We were free to use the kitchen to make drinks and enjoy leisure time in the lounge or the small TV lounge. Breakfast was served around the dining table, with the other guests, which was nice. There are steps down to the beach, but for insurance purposes, it is necessary to sign to say that you do so at your own risk. Our bed and bedroom were comfortable, even though it was a climb for me into the bed. The cost was reasonable. A most enjoyable stay Diane, thank you.

We booked two rooms at the Cliffside B&B for two nights in June. The only disappointment that we had was that we did not stayed longer. The house and its rooms are huge and very clean. Anything that we might have needed was provided or was available. The view is unsurpassed. Diane was the perfect host; friendly, helpful and a very genuine person. We have stayed in a lot of B and B's over the years and this was one of the best. You will have difficulty finding this type of high quality accomodation for such a reasonable cost anywhere.
