Ian and Leslie run a great cottage-style B&B on the lake, far enough away from Halifax (and even Dartmouth) to feel relaxed and enjoy the scenery and their great hospitality! Ian joked around a lot with my son, and he and Leslie made us feel at home. Would definitely return.

First of all, I and my travel partner would like to thank both Ian & Leslie for the warmest Maritime Welcome!! Traveling our first time by car into Canada, Ian and Leslie opened their home and hearts to us. Our room was cozy and the breakfast each morning in the dining area over-looking Lake Charles was as fantastic way to...

We spent a week at fairhaven Bed and Breakfast this past September /09 and were very impressed with the hospitality and generosity. Our children, aged 5 and 7, looked forward to breakfast each morning with our host, Ian who went out of his way to make them feel welcome. He provided them with their regular breakfast as well as hot...

After several emails we (2 adults, 3 children from the Netherlands) decided to stay in the queen suite: nice rooms, though little space to leave your things. Beautiful view. Not practical if you have no car or if you have small children. Asking if we could heat up some sausages for our kids led to a very unpleasant goodbye.

We are very sorry to hear that this reviewer did not find our accommodations outstanding. We did inform these guests that this was a Bed and Breakfast in our home with no facilities to cook other meals. We were happy to find that they liked the rooms and found the view as promised! We take pride in making our guests...

After reading Trip Advisor reviews, I booked six nights at Fairhaven for my mother (86 years young) and myself. We were extremely pleased. The house and gardens are so lovely--and it was so nice to stay in a home. Ian and Leslie have two upstairs bedrooms they use for the B&B--additionally there is a separate lounge (with TV) for each...

The photos you see on the website capture some of the magic that is Fairhaven B&B, but they by no means do full justice to At Fairhaven B&B. From the moment you wander down the steps towards the house you really do find a haven. The views of Lake Charles are magical and the garden that slopes down to the...

This was my first stay in a B&B. Ian, the owner, was a great host - engaging, humorous and helpful. The room was lovely and comfie with a full supply of tea/coffee/cocoa in the room. We had the twin suite and had full use of the living room space and a wonderful jacuzzi-equipped bathroom. They really have thought of including...

Beds were GREAT! Perfect for our family of 4 adult/teen. Wouldn't be appropriate for infants/toddlers. Great breakfast! There was a choice of three.... we chose the eggs. The fruit salad was fresh each morning.... Ian, our host, couldn't have been friendlier and more helpful!
