I agree with the other 3 star reviews but also want to add that the "lobby" is very nice. We used it after dinner so we could gather as a group. Linda is incredibly accommodating, familiar with the area and fun to chat with.

We chose Sydney for a 3 night stay because of the location. It was an easy drive to the fortress at Louisbourg and other sights on our list.. The room was clean and did not have an "old" smell but the hotel and furnishings were very warn. The sheets were pilled from use and very rough. Our room was dark...

We stayed here for the first time on our trip to Nova Scotia & we will definitely be back! The charm was so unexpected....it was so quiet & relaxing. The staff was so accommodating....even making sure we had breakfast at 4AM when we had an early flight out. Hats off to Linda! Can't wait to visit again!

Right across the street from the Holiday Inn.. A charming historical building. We were in room 1 which was very nice but smaller than other rooms (12, 13). Each room was a suite / kitchenette that would be suitable for a family wanting to stay for several days. Breakfast was limited but good. Free laundry facilities are available. While in...

The Inn was a nice surprise for us as we had been staying at little motels along our trip. This was more of an executive hotel. We stayed in a Junior Suite which had a nice big room. Wood and tile floors, modern furnishings, very clean. It had a kitchenette which seemed to be well stocked with anything you might...

I had to travel to Sydney for a "temporary" job of about 2-3 months. Luckily the company I work for had used this facility before. I ended up staying for over 2 years, leaving May of 2015, and it felt like I was leaving my second home. The Inn has a charm about it that you must see to believe....

Spanish Bay Inn and Suites is located near the cruise ship dock in downtown Sydney. The location is convenient, one block from a great restaurant. The suite we had was amazing, the bed was super comfortable, the kitchen fully equipped and a separate room with a sofa and TV, really it was the size of an apartment. And it was...

You cannot blame a hotel for bad weather, but take it from us Cape Breton is way nicer when the sun shines! You can blame a hotel though for letting itself down on little details. It was unfortunate that as there are no elevators there is no one to help with baggage ; it's unfortunate that although this hotel "prides...

Unfortunately we were just passing through and didn't get to spend much time at the Spanish Bay but I was still very pleasantly surprised. The Inn offers a free laundry facility (with detergent) which was enormously helpful and convenient, off-street parking, and complimentary continental breakfast. Since I told them in advance that I was gluten-free the manager ran out and...

We had a great experience at the Spanish Bay Suites. The suites are clean and well-appointed with microwave and bar fridge. Both Junior and Queen suites have one Queen bed - I believe the difference is the room size; Queen suites have extra seating (just check the details when booking). We had the 2-bedroom apartment, which is gorgeous, with modern...
