Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

When we booked our room through booking.com, it stated that breakfast was included in the price. Just before we arrived, the owner left me a voice message stating that he couldn’t provide breakfast because of Covid-19 protocols. When we arrived at the motel, the owner was friendly but said he couldn’t give me a discount or a voucher (to make up for not providing the advertised breakfast) as I did not book directly with him. After much discussion, he did take $10.00 off the price of the room.

We had room #1 and the living space had been recently renovated with laminate flooring, and included a new tv, small table and chairs and comfortable beds.

The bathroom had not been renovated, could have been much cleaner, and needed a new toilet and shower curtain.

Although this was our most expensive motel during our 2 week road trip to the Maritimes, it was a good location for an overnight stop. The big sign out front advertising free breakfast should be removed and the website updated until the free breakfast is reinstated.

My favorite place to stay in Shelburne, Quiet location off the main road, super friendly and helpful staff. Looks like the bathrooms have been remodeled recently, big flat screen TV, free wireless internet, in room fridge., reasonable rates and free breakfast .. what more do you need!

I stayed at the Wildwood for an extended period on a business trip. I had a very good experience and the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. The rooms are very clean. We had an exceptional service. We even could cook since there is BBQ available for clients. I will stay again at this motel next time I am in Shelburne. Thank to all and especially to Norm and special hi to Jake.

Don’t waist your money but if ya feel the need bring your own everything!!! TV didn’t work, Salamander in our bathroom, it smelt musty and the beds left a lot to be desired. Stains on sheets and the pillows were horrible. Just wanted to get out of there. $161 for one night with 1 adult and 3 teens.

Advertised free breakfast but when we got there they said no breakfast because of COVID. COVID has been around for 18 months so plenty of time to change website plus many places are serving breakfast now. They are trying to save money and RIP off guests. Dont stay there.

We stayed several days and enjoyed the comfortable pleasant surroundings. Outdoor lawn chairs provided an opportunity to relax, read and also to visit with other guests. The friendly staff provided a pleasant atmosphere in the office and over breakfast.

The motel itself is nothing fancy. It is well maintained ,clean and appropriately furnished. Good value is provided
The best feature was the surprise we found working here named Debbie and her husband who ran the place.

Debbie makes, from scratch every day, the fresh bread, baked beans and assorted cookies and dessert breads provided for breakfast. She has a heart the size of Newfoundland, appropriate given her birthplace, and makes you feel very welcomed and at home.

Good-size room. Room was clean and seemed to have some recent renovations. The style is not like contemporary brand-name places, but it was comfortable for our 3-night stay. Staff were always friendly and helpful.

There are two buildings and if you ask, they can try to place non-smokers in the smaller of the two buildings. This worked so well, I would encourage everywhere to consider better separation of smokers and non-smokers.

Breakfast could have been better... After the first day, I stuck to the muffins and fruit and then ate more elsewhere.

My wife and I recently spent a night at this great motel while travelling around NS. The room was very spacious, extremely clean and comfortable. We found the bed very good. The property is in a quiet but accessible location and the grounds are attractive and well cared for. Best of all is the great staff, very friendly and helpful, real NS (via Newfoundland!) hospitality. The large breakfast room features a well above average continental breakfast including homemade biscuits and boiled eggs!
If this is the type of accommodation you are seeking you will not do better!!
