I always visit explorer hotel during my frequent visits to Yellowknife. I've received the best hospitality from all the staff throughout all my visits. The front desk staff have been very kind and fulfill all my requests. They always recommend seasonal attractions. I usually travel solo, except for the last visit i traveled with my friends. They were impressed with... More

I always stay at this hotel in Yellowknife. The front desk staff are always friendly! The only downside is that none of the rooms have windows that open if you like fresh air. They've added mini fridges and safes. Excellent hotel!

Stayed at the Explorer Hotel in Yellowknife from 2 to 7 October. Not sure what to expect as this was my first trip to Yellowknife. Room was modern, clean and comfortable with 2 queen beds. Had a fridge and satellite tv. Shower had good water pressure and they supplied the normal toiletries. Lounge in the hotel served a great steak... More

When we went online to book, we had heard there was a new hotel but could not find it online. The other recommendation we had received was The Explorer. We booked for two nights. The Lobby looked good and staff were nice and professional, however the room was old and worn. This hotel could really use some updates. Another problem... More

This hotel is the one to stay at if you're staying in Yellowknife. Staff are friendly, rooms are very clean and up to date. Only problem I personally had is the location but yellowknife is a relatively small city so commuting isn't a problem.

I enjoyed my time at this hotel. It is well positioned with the Information Centre being across the road and the Legislature, Museum and Frame Lake also close by. There's a bus stop and supermarket just a few minutes walk from the hotel. The rooms are a nice size, clean with a comfortable bed. Some of the furniture was a... More

This is a very clean, well run hotel with a nice restaurant. The fish and chips were particularly good, made with arctic char! The staff is helpful and the views of the city are very beautiful. There are consistent problems with the Internet which kept disconnecting and reconnecting which was most annoying. The beds are very comfortable.

Great hotel with friendly staff. Across the street from the Tourism Information building. Grocery store and pharmacy nearby. Small gym but no pool. Clean rooms with comfortable beds. I was lucky enough to view the northern lights from my room in early April.

We stayed at this hotel twice in the past month. It is a fairly standard 2.5 to 3 star hotel which stands out because of its location, i.e. Yellowknife. It is clean, orderly, and adequately equipped. The front desk staff are mainly cordial, efficient, and helpful, but, on the other hand, when the shuttle from the airport arrived on our... More
