Stayed with my Partner on September 4th, 2015 for two nights. I'm not an advocate of hostel's but I needed to trade two night's in a really nice hotel for two at the Hostel. I found this place to be very welcoming. Upon arrival they provided lot's of information as to how to get around and where things are (like...

Clean sheets, fairly comfy mattresses, good people, great advice and directions, only two bathrooms so can be tricky in the morning. Slightly more $ than the average hostel, but location is the reason.

This hostel was a just great! Clean, quiet, spacious, with a welcoming lounge to relax in, and great kitchen and bathroom facilities. They provided a parking pass, too! It was accommodating, well-organized, and made our stay very smooth and effortless! The welcoming staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, telling us of local activities, places to go, how to get there,...

Reading other reviews, I was surprised at the number of negative reviews. I have been to a variety of hostels in Europe and Canada, and this hostel is among my favourites. Sure, there was the odd employee who wasn't the most inviting, but the majority were super helpful, friendly and inclusive. My friend and I stayed there between hiking ventures,...

I was in St John's for just over a week, on my own for the first few days and with a friend for a few days. I stayed here my first two nights and though they were full the next couple, I used the hostel as my home base. It was immensely conducive to making new friends, with both guests...

For the price and the location this hostel was tolerable. I stayed in a shared dorm in 1 of 4 beds. The bed was comfortable enough and with only 3 others in the room sounds and disruptions at night were kept to a minimum. Only 2 shared bathrooms in the whole place but were kept pretty clean. Compared to other...

I have been to many HI hostels before. This experience was really no different, save for it being in a smaller town. The check in was chaotic at best. Had a bunk bed in a single room with shared bathroom, bed are comfortable. The hostel is in a an excellent location, but the staff could be more knowledgable. This stay...

Stayed here for 2 nights. This hostel was cramped, scruffy and dirty. Having filled the 'TV room' with beds, and having 'the office' in the lounge which was locked at 9pm the only other place to sit was on 1 of 4 hard wooden chairs in the cramped and dirty kitchen in the basement. Only 1 fridge/freezer, mostly taken up...

This hostel seemed to be more of a place for the staff than it did the guests. They used most of the storage in the small kitchen and were using the TV room to sleep in. Note that there was also no common room or laundry as advertised on the HI web site. The cleanliness was very lacking as the...

Can't really get much better for the price. Yes, it's not a typical hostel setup and it does get crowded with only two bathrooms for all 20-odd people, but it's close to downtown and quite clean. Won't find much better elsewhere.
