Wonderful location to downtown eateries and music. Parking is a little limited but off the street. Area safe for walking alone. Nice walking path around waterfront. Near great restaurants. Jim and Carl (very gracious) have a good handle on the areas history and things to do.

And don't take me wrong, it was indeed OK. I enjoyed jim's company (the host) and learned a good deal about the city. The breakfast was of a below avarage quality, and when I got at the door no one was there to open! So I had to go and visit the city a little bit and come back in... More

Good morning, Thank you for your recent stay and subsequent review. Glad you enjoyed Jim's conversation and that you learned something about our beautiful city ~ we are very passionate about it. I am sorry that the fresh fruit, home-made muffins, juice, coffee, apple-cinnamon pancakes and apple baked sausages did not meet your expectations - we normally receive great accolades... More

We stayed in Saint John over Easter weekend. We lucked out with the weather, but Mahogany Manor was truly the highlight of our stay. Carl and Jim are the perfect hosts. They pointed us to vegetarian restaurants and helped us when we realized we had forgotten an item in our bedroom, even calling a couple days afterwards to make sure... More

This was our second stay with Carl and Jim, who are superb hosts, with an elegant home they generously share with their guests. I was especially grateful for their hospitality while in the city during my husband's hip replacement. They were flexible with the booking dates and offer a wheelchair access entrance and room. We did not need the room... More

Greetings, Thank you for your recent stay. We hope that your husband's recovery continues uneventfully. Expect he may be ready to play tennis again soon. We appreciated the lovely signed copy of your Children's book. Our youngest grandson enjoyed hearing the story and checking out the great illustrations. Stay well. We look forward to your return. This is a gem of a building, tucked into a quiet location in a beautiful, historic neighborhood. A lovely stroll to the busier downtown, with comfortable rooms to return to and find soft slumbers with an excellent breakfast from an interesting and kind host. Very knowledgable and active in the community, Carl was helpful as my wife and our eleven... More

My partner and I stay at B&Bs whenever we can. We prefer them to hotels because you generally get a 1-on-1 experience with the hosts that you don't get at a hotel. Some are amazing, while others are just okay. Mahogany Manor is definitely in the "amazing" category. The hosts, Jim and Carl, are absolutely delightful and make you feel... More

We arrived early, no problem Carl said we could park at the side of the B & B. We stayed for 3 nights. Breakfast was delicious- fresh fruit, freshly baked muffins, juice, coffee, pancakes, and homemade jams as an example. Our room on the 2nd floor was clean, quiet, and very comfortable. The central location on Germain St. was an... More

We had a super overnight stay at Mahogany Mansion. The hosts Karl & Jim were very welcoming, humorous, helpful & interesting. There were lots of very thoughtful touches- 'essentials+' in the ensuite bathroom, interesting books with historical information about St John in the rooms, comfortable lounge for relaxing.... We met other interesting guests over a delicious homecooked breakfast. Would highly... More

breakfast was not that good, especially fruit: canned OJ, orange slices dried out, grapes just tasted bad- seemed like they were skimping on ingredients, not enough protein or quantity overall to start a day of hiking. No AC, no problem, but you need screens on the windows, and they don't have them. Charming decor. No big complaints but the experience... More

Greetings, Thank you for your recent visit and review of our property. It is always interesting how people look at a property. We work very hard to provide quality service and food to our guests as is evidenced by the majority of reviews provided.
