The hotel met all its advertising with aplomb and professionalism. We were particularly impressed with the morning buffet and the lengths the chef would go to to ensure every thing ordered was exactly what we wanted.

This is a grand railway hotel redolent of Winnipeg's boom years in the early 20th century. It is situated opposite Union Station, and very convenient for an evening arrival on The Canadian from Vancouver. The lobby and public rooms are stately, with lots of brass and marble, and the rooms very comfortable with fluffy white bedding. Complimentary morning coffee and...

This is a beautiful old hotel that has vintage furnishings and high ceilings. Our first night was quite pleasant. A good Buffet breakfast is available to guests at a reasonable price. The 2nd night (a Saturday) was not! We went to the lounge / dining room for dinner. The food was pretty good, though it was pricey. Halfway through our...

We had two adjoining rooms on the 4th floor. The hotel is a grand old railroad hotel that has been well maintained. Rooms were larger than you would expect for a 100 year old hotel. Breakfast was a small buffet in a very nice room on the main floor with windows onto the street. There is a nice circular bar...

If you are traveling to Winnipeg this is an excellent hotel option. Cost: The cost is in line with other hotels in the downtown are. Location: The hotel is immediately downtown near the train station (part of its history) an easy walk to the downtown area. Local eateries are close-by along with some shopping. The Fort Gary historical park is...

Your grandma is a classy lady even when old. But she does odd things like having her hair dyed purple and over doses on perfume. Well thats the Fort Garry. 2/3 of the front steps missing, but the brass was polished, chandeliers were gleaming, rooms including bathroom, very modern fixtures like LED TV, ipod dock on clock radio, fresh bright...

Attended a wedding on Aug 9, 2015 at the Fort Garry Hotel. Good: Staff were in general courteous. Bad: - Though the banquet staff were courteous, they all looked miserable. Not a slightest smile on their faces. - Their uniforms were poorly fitted. Some uniforms looked like they shrunk 10 times over and were tight and short, while others were...

We booked through Expedia for $96 US per night. Paid an additional $15/night for parking and $10/night for a fridge. Hotel is historic (i.e. old) and not in brand new condition, but that is what makes it interesting in my opinion. We were on the 6th floor facing Broadway. The last night of our stay, there were 4 weddings in...

We stayed at the hotel on a Saturday night when there were 4 wedding receptions taking place. The room we were given to directly over one of the discos and it was impossible to sleep. When I asked when the music would stop, I was offered another room. So why did the hotel give us that room in the first...

I stayed with my husband for a winnipeg staycation, and had the nicest time. The Palm Lounge had great service, and the food was tasty. The room was the best part. The bedding is so luxurious that I didn't want to get out of bed. We had a suite with a couch area, which was perfect for lounging with a...
