My wife and I were conflicted between two hotels for our trip to Whistler. Looking at the pictures of both hotel on Tripadvisor we finally went with Westin. That might have been a mistake tho! Let me explain. First of all, I do not consider Westins to be bad hotels. Dont get me wrong we did have a great time lodging at Westin in Whistler, BUT we picked a Mountain View room with separate shower from the tub, fireplace and balcony. Unfortunately, upon arriving in our room, we noticed there was only the fireplace. As we were at the 7th floor, our Mountain view was more of a ''THAT PINE TREE'' view. No such thing as Moutain VIEW. We also didn't have a separated standup shower, which was WHY WE BOOKED THIS HOTEL and not the other one. We also did not have a balcony, anyway... what would we look at? THAT PINE TREE!? XD Fireplace was nice, must be even more nice in the winter. If you're ever looking for the shower clutch, it's on the faucet. I almost ripped out the shower handle trying to start the shower before noticing the very light pictograms on the actual clutch. Not so user-friendly! There were also LOTS of dogs on our floor! What the hell?! We heard lots of barking in the evening but happily, none during the night! We got to the pools at around 8PM for a quick relaxing hot tub time. There were LOTS of kids! LOTS! running around, screaming, going in and out, splashing! Why aren't kids in bed at 8! What is wrong with people! The pool was cold (we were end of october) and there was WAYYYYY to much chlorine (or idk) in the indoor tub! The vapor made my eyes irritated instantly. We couldnt even stay in more than 2 minutes. We left 10minutes later. Not so relaxing! Also why the hell are the Steam room in the lockers?!? I have always been in Steam Room with my wife, that was the first time I even saw separate steam rooms. Very confusing! The pool and hot tub were also why we chose Westin instead of another hotel. This was a very frustrating first encounter with our trip lodge! Almost was our last one ever! That being said, what makes my rating go up to 3 stars is the staff of the hotel. I've been to MANY hotels, many different chains, in various random locations. I have seen such wonderful human-being and caring staff! We felt welcomed from the beginning. The personel at the desk are friendly, funny, relaxed. I have to give a big 'shout-out' to one of the desk staff. As i was coming back after an exhausting first day, I realised at the door i had forgotten the key card in the room.... I walked back to the desk, completly drained out! She was so sweet and compassionate! As my drivers license is from Quebec, she noticed the logo on the card and switched to french mid-encounter! What a nice and personnal gesture! To conclude, as I said earlier, this Westin isn't a bad hotel. Maybe I did not fully understand what were my option in terms of room. What I know is I though I was getting a separate shower, balcony AND fireplace no matter the room. I also thought i'd see Waaay more mountain, not just trees. I also though Westins weren't such family resort and there be fewer young ones considering the time of the year. But the staff at this hotel is incredible and that kinda made up for the rest. Again, not a bad hotel, but our room was... ok! nothing extravagant! Also the lobby is beautiful! I wish we had more times to make the most of it.

We stayed here the first weekend of October. Staff were very friendly throughout our stay. We enjoyed the room, enjoyed the view, loved Whistler. Not sure why there is no housekeeping offered for multi- night stays (seems like the only thing we haven’t figured out with COVID) but we could get towels quickly when we called down.

I was really impressed with this hotel. They followed Covid precautions to the letter, and I felt safe. Asked for a quiet room and was upgraded to a mountain facing room on the 10th floor, which was incredibly quiet. Staff were friendly, attentive, and went out of their way to help with whatever I needed. I ordered room service and was a little dismayed that it was in a compostible box, so to my surprise, it was close to some of the best room service chicken I’ve had. I finished every last bite. And I totally understand the need for the paper box. Again, made me feel safe. Gym and pool were immaculate and well maintained with 1 to 2 staff members at all times. Not sure I’ll stay anywhere else after this. Many thanks to all the staff!

I booked this hotel via Hotel.com specify to pay at front desk instead of prepaid , I used my Visa card for reservation.. Since American Express had a promotion for using its card for hotel stay with $ 75 credit as a Travel BC promotion, I told the front desk to use AE to pay my room at the time I checked in. The front desk saying my record using VISA not AE and refused me to use AE, I told him, my booking saying I paid at Front desk .Do my AE not acceptable by bank? Why couldn't I change to use another card? They are not flexible and stupid .

This hotel is very beautiful on the inside and outside it looks very new...it's professionally renovated.. Staff are friendly polite and helpful. Everything is here great restaurants, bar, nice quality stores on the lower level ,spa, pool, valet parking and they'll bring your luggage to your room. The laundry area has a large washer and dryer and it only cost $2.00 to wash and $2.00 to dry. We stayed here for 3 days at room 301 East with nice balcony and privacy on the mountain side. This suite is large like a high end condo maybe its around 600 sq. feet or more, the bedroom is separate the living room and nice kitchen with all new appliances. The only negative here is I can hear the people next door when I'm in the living room or in the kitchen. If you don't want the noise just go to the bedroom, just close the door ..I would definitely recommend this place because it's a super nice place and luxury. We definitely coming back in 2 weeks if this unit is still available... I love this place...
