stayed on a three night package with BC Ferries and was somewhat disappointed with things. I realise that we are emerging from the Covid pandemic which does provide some excuses but: the room was 28C when we arrived and no air conditioning. A fan had been provide which did offer some air movement but the room wasunbearably hot. The bathroom exhaust fan did not work so we could not draw cool, outside air through the room nor eliminate bathroom odors and humidity. There was no cleaning of the room during our three night stay, despite asking the room cleaner to do our room. Had to go and ask for extra coffee each day and the car park was usually full when we returned late in the evening. The pool and hot tub were both closed which was very disappointing. I understand the Covid concerns but if hotels are offering reduced or no services this should be reflected in the price they charge. I would not stay at this hotel again.
BC Ferries holiday packages usually represent good value but not in this case.

To be fair, at this price point, given the location and views, one does have to overlook the lack of detailed cleanliness. We found the room clean overall, but if you look carefully in the corners, edges, ledges, and grout around the tub and on the bathroom floor, you might be disappointed. On arrival, the room had a slight stale smell, but once we opened the windows for a few minutes (there were two, we were in a corner unit), the air was fine. The furniture was not chipped or worn, nothing was broken, and the bed was comfortable enough. Okay value for the price. On our visit we found this hotel perfectly quiet and we slept well. They had a good selection of TV channels including some non-commercial ones like The Frame channel.

We stayed here for two nights during the week. The staff was very friendly with all interactions. The rooms we very clean, beds were super hard and squeaky. This hotel has a bar/restaurant right underneath it and one of the nights we were there the loud music was going on until 1am and the next night it was until 11pm. This didn’t really bother us as we all had earplugs but it could bother someone else. The only frustrating thing was the parking. The hotel provides free parking, but their lot is also used for the restaurant so it can be very difficult to find parking. When we arrived to park there was no parking available, so I asked the front desk staff what we could do and the response was to pay for parking on the street or to sit in the lot and wait for someone to leave, we were told this happens all of the time, so this could possibly bother someone staying here. I think next time I’d pay the extra $20 bucks a night and stay elsewhere.

Great location but falls down in a couple of areas. The shower stall is tiny and the door is hinged about 6 inches along the door. This means that I(5.8" and normal build) can not walk straight in I have to turn sideways to enter. Once in the shower head does not adjust for height. As for the restaurant it was $17.00 for ham and eggs, almost soft poached (a little hard for my liking) . Coffee was hot (4.50 a cup) but weak. Starbucks is across the street.
We won't be back.

The outside temperature was -6 or less & there had been a fresh falling snow which is very rare for Victoria. The hotel location is ideal & our harbour view was nice.
First, the front desk clerk did everything he could in a very trying situation. He was pleasant and obliging even into the 14th hour of his shift. of the below is any fault of his. He informed us the hotel restaurant where we planned dinner was closed but would be open for breakfast the next day which it was not.

When we got to our floor in the elevator there was a loud bang & a coil spring popped out & hung from the top track of the door. Fortunately the door opened & we exited. The elevator was out of service for almost all our stay which was particularly difficult on my wife who doesn’t take stairs because of her knees.
There was no heat in the room. The thermostat’s batteries were dead which I discovered after trying several times to set the temperature. I called down to the desk but he couldn’t come up with batteries right away & shortly he called the room asking if I could come down & get the batteries from him & install them myself. By this time he couldn’t leave the desk as the elevator repairman was working on that problem. I figured out how to replace the batteries & the thermostat worked until later when we had gotten to sleep & it kicked out again & the room stayed frigid until next morning.

In the bathroom the little hand sanitizer bottle was empty yet placed in a row with the other little bottles beside the sink. The tile grout was black & broken with some fallen out. There was a filthy mess in the bathtub & the inside of the shower curtain which hadn’t been cleaned in a long time which made us leery of the cleanliness overall.
The baseboard heater louvres had been partially broken or disassembled with parts missing.
The bed mattress was old, lumpy and uncomfortable as were the pillows.
Overall a horrific stay only slightly assuaged by the room charge being refunded by the morning clerk.

My wife & I know this is far
from Days Inn standards yet Days Inn should have people making sure individual hotels are up to their standards.

We sincerely apologize that you did not enjoy your stay with us. It seems that the snowfall created a predicament for many businesses in Victoria and our team attempted to support our guests to the best of their ability. There were many issues experienced during your stay that are not reflective of the standard of service that we wish to provide. Many of the issues that you noted have since been addressed as reflected in our more recent reviews. I read reviews before travelling. I also did not make the reservation for this hotel. I thought, ok, give benefit of doubt. Arrived, check in was cold, Mike seemed like did not want to be there. Phoned down to front desk when lamps between beds would not turn on. Mike said, just keep pushing the button until they come on. I pushed button approx 8 times, only one light came on. On way out, spoke to Mike, he reluctantly said, let me know when you return and I will come look at it. Upon our return he came up to the room, no mask (even though signs are posted thanking guests for wearing masks). He pushed the button a few times, finally both lights came on. The switch/button is very loose for the lights and the wiring is very dangerously exposed, given this, Mike still in few words insisted I figure it out on my own, the first time I called down to the desk. Floor under the beds was very very dirty. I had to move beds to access the wiring to ensure was plugged in, as instructed by Mike. Bathroom, had to step up into it, very very small, closet for room is bigger (lol). Paid for room with harbour front view, little did we know it also came with the noise factor from patrons at the bar attached to the hotel. The elevator was extremely tiny, cannot safely distance, two people in the elevator, it is that small. Floor tile is dirty and in need of a facelift. Throughout night could hear water running in pipes. People above us were noisy. I would not recommend this hotel and will not return. I contacted DaysInn via twitter and sent two pictures of the dangerous wiring to Victoria City Hall Permitting department.

We are sorry that you experienced difficulty with the lights in the guest room. We are currently embarking on a preventative maintenance program to ensure that all rooms are in good working order prior to the arrival of every guest. While our team is generally happy to assist guests, we are trying to avoid entering guest rooms during stays as part of our measures to help prevent the spread of Covid. As you have discovered, an older building presents many challenges. However, our entire team continues to work hard to try and mitigate those circumstances for the benefit of our valued guests. Our entire housekeeping team is presently concentrating on deep cleaning all of our guest rooms to ensure that they achieve the highest standards of cleanliness for future stays. Meanwhile, we will review with our Front Desk team the importance of warm welcomes and strictly adhering to all of our Covid safety measures. Your feedback is important to us and we will work hard to make it right. In the future, please reach out to us directly at gm@daysinnvictoria.com so that we can address and rectify your concerns. Thank you for sharing your feedback.

• On arrival around 4pm, car park was full.
• On-premise beer & wine store attracted patrons from whom you felt the need to protect your valuables.
• No A/C in room = way too hot. The provided fan shut off at random intervals.
• Thermostat on wall was deactivated.
• No fan in bathroom. Seriously.
• Bathroom dirty and in disrepair (see photos). Shower dark like a cave.
• No outlets on one side of the bed.

On a positive note:
• I interacted briefly with two staff members who were pleasant.
• Location is good. Right in the city, walking distance to major attractions.

This was a package booked through BC Ferries. If you crunch the numbers, we figure we paid $150 before taxes per night for this hotel. It was not worth half that amount. BC Ferries will hear from me separately.

I had a great experience at Days Inn Victoria Harbour. I had a two dbl bedded room on the 4th (top) floor with a great view of the Harbour and the Empress Hotel. While I wouldn't say the hotel is luxurious it is certainly has been updated and was very clean and comfortable and Front Desk service and greeting was welcoming. Belleville's restaurant on the main floor was open as it has a large patio area where the table were well spaced for Covid protocols and both the service and food were great on the 2 occasions I ate there, and reasonable priced too.

One star because of location - right across from the harbour and next to Parliament, close to museum... cannot beat the location + free parking.
However, after that, the good ends.
We got in after four hours of driving from Tofino, went upstairs and my husband had to use the bathroom, to his surprise there was poo, pee and a pubic hair on the toilet so not touched! We called the housekeeping and she came and cleaned it. A bit later we were looking around and noticed mold in the shower, dust everywhere, kitchen filthy, mirrored doors not cleaned...so my husband went to reception and asked for cleaners and then we spent half hour cleaning our hotel room, not how i wanted to spend my ONE day in Victoria and my final day of my vacation. At some point my husband asked me if I opened the bathroom soap, I said no, I assumed he had, he said no, my daughter said she didn't, so they didn't change the bathroom soap bar between clients which, especially in covid, is kinda gross.
Even the halls were neglected interms of cleanliness. We actually walked around Victoria trying to see if another hotel had a room free for the night but they were all booked (we were concened if they had put new sheets on the bed if everything else wasn't touched!)
Its unfortunate cause like I mentioned, location is great, not sure if staff laid off in covid times or what it is but definietly need to up the cleaning game!

Thank you for providing this valuable feedback. This experience is clearly not reflective of the standards we wish to provide, particularly in terms of cleanliness. Like many other businesses in Victoria, we have been dealing with staffing shortages. While this is certainly not an excuse, it is a reason why the attention to detail may have been overlooked. Rest assured that we are working extremely hard to address these issues as we know that cleanliness is of the utmost priority for our guests. Thanks for staying with us and we hope to deliver a better experience on your next visit.

Ugh absolutely the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had.
A bar and restaurant below the hotel has the party rocking till 1-1:30, no AC and hot as hell on the 4th floor (that one complimentary fan doesn’t cut it) so you have to sleep with the window open, praying to various gods that a gust of wind finds your open window.
Managed a couple hours sleep and then the street sweepers start.
Besides the crummy sleep, the hotel rooms are just tired and worn down. If it weren’t for the location near the water (and the strip where the nice
Collector cars spend all day reving engines and doing burnouts for the bars below) this wouldn’t be a $50 a night kind of place. I’m shocked that Days Inn put their name and reputation on the line for this small hotel.

We are sorry that you did not enjoy your stay with us. We understand that the lack of air conditioning in the hotel can make our guest rooms uncomfortable on extremely hot days. Your satisfaction is important to us and we take all guest feedback to heart with the intention of improving. We will work with the bar and restaurant to ensure that their music is switched off at an appropriate hour. We make changes every year to enhance the guest experience. We hope that you'll give us a try again once we have had a chance to rectify some of the issues that you noted. We apologize for the inconvenience.
