This place is located only 10 minutes walk from downtown. The hosts are super welcoming and friendly and the breakfast served to the room, was amazing! The house is pretty old and if that smell bothers you, you may want to reconsider this location; however, the rooms are pretty clean! The only downside to this place was that the Jacuzzi... More

Just a 10 minute walk from downtown, the sense of quiet luxury was felt throughout our stay. The gourmet breakfasts, served to the room, were worthy of the finest restaurants. The hosts were welcoming and friendly, and the property itself lent to a strong sense of privacy. It was easy to forget anyone else was at the house at all.... More

We are staying for 2 nights in The Oriental Room. The rooms are clean, spacious, king size bed & we can't wait to get in to the giant soaker jacuzzi tub. We were greeted warmly by the Innkeeper who was a wealth of information regarding restaurants & local sights. Breakfast is served right in your room. Love this place &... More

This has an excellent location, close to the harbour, a short walk to Beacon Park and in a quiet road. Our room was quite large but the dark colours make it seem smaller. Bed was Ok but did creak rather a lot and was not as good as some of those we slept in elsewhere. We struggled to close one... More

What a great B & B! Room was great. Bed was great. Double whirlpool tub was wonderful, powerful and a little tight. Host was charming. Breakfast of your choice was perfect and served in the room at the time you request! Just a knock on the door to let you know your perfect breakfast is waiting inside the portal to... More

Humboldt house is a beautiful older home ideally situated within walking distance of both a huge park and the city (in different directions). We stayed in the Celebration room which had a huge 4 poster bed and spa bath. The room suits the romantic Victorian era. The breakfast were very good and delivered to your room - there is no... From the canopy bed to the most delicious food you can imagine, Humboldt House has romance. You will even hear horse drawn carriages going up the street in front! And you are within easy walking distance of all the sights and restaurants you could desire. To see Butchart Gardens ( well worth it!!) you need to take a shuttle but... More

I struggle with this review as I would hate to have this place book up so far in advance that getting a room would be impossible; but do have to share such a wonderful experience with this B&B. I prefer B&Bs to hotels any day and Humboldt House was perfect. Charming decor with such a personal touch and delicious breakfast... More

Humboldt House has a lot to recommend it: A beautiful old home, well-located on a quiet street just a few minutes walk from downtown; comfortable beds; a friendly and helpful staff; ample off-street parking. Arriving guests are greeted with a glass of champaign and an excellent chocolate. Warm cookies magically appear in the library each afternoon. Breakfasts are a choice... More

We stayed 3 nights in Victoria before driving to Vancouver for a cruise. Our room was the Edward room which was nice although a little cozy in places. The toilet was separate from the room, the sink and tub in the room itself. The sink was right at the end of the bed so a squeeze to get by. The... More
