My daughter and I stayed overnight at the Bedford Regency Hotel when we came to Victoria to see the Butchart Gardens. I admit, my main reason for choosing the hotel was that it was cheap, so I wasn't particularly disappointed that my room was old fashioned. There were some charming features of the hotel...casement windows, cool toilet with a curved...

Right in the middle of down town Victoria. How many hotels have a wood burning fireplace. Great stay and staff. Will be returning. A great place everything within walking distance. Did I mention how great the staff was.

Tony G, Manager at Bedford Regency Hotel, responded to this review

Thank you for your recent stay. We feel extremely flattered by your kind feedback. It is true the traditional wood burning fireplaces are extinct in hotel suites. We are lucky that we still possess this unique feature due to the age of our hotel. Again, thank you for sharing your experience with us and we look forward to welcoming you...

The hotel is in a great location making it easy to walk to the wharf and other areas. The room set up was less than desirable with two double beds which would have been fine if one of those beds was not right in front of the bathroom with a sliding frosted glass door. Trying to find a power point...

The hotel is right in the middle of restaurants, shops and an easy walk from the beautiful inner harbor. My room was clean, comfortable and quiet. Unlike several other hotels the TV was very easy to use. I will certainly go back.

Hotel is very old and it shows. Great location on Government Street. Walking distance to all the great restaurants and events. Our room overlooked a non existent court yard. Basically looked across to another room. The bathroom was tiny with a shower and toilet. The sink was in the room with the bed. No dresser or table. Had one little...

Room was quaint. Shower sprayed more water from hose than the end. Front desk staff slow to respond. Bed was comfortable. Needs some plumbing care as no hot water on Saturday morning and both sinks extremely slow to drain.

Jacuzzi tub, however there was no hot water to enjoy this. cigarette burns on furniture and very dirty windows that effected the view. comfortable bed. tattered and worn, great location and fairly quiet. parking out front to...

Pros: Inexpensive comfortable beds Clean room Nice linens Right down town Nostalgic old fashioned decor Friendly staff Cons: Water temperature difficult to control in shower Parking ( off site parking was full and our truck was to tall. It took a long time...

When you're on a business trip theres nothing like having a woodburning fire (not pressed logs) next to the desk in your room with windows that open and a view over the City. Then, when you walk out the door everything is right there. And - oh - yes, the jacuzzi in the bath! Hard to take lol. Stay there....

I stayed in one of the superior rooms with a fireplace and a jacuzzi tub. The room was beautifully painted and had a nice partial view of the harbor. The staff was extremely accommodating of my early check-in and late checkout as well as of my storage needs (bicycle), and knowledgeable of the area. The one issue I had was...

“My room didn't have a view but was quiet and the window did open and let in plenty of light. If you want quiet, ask for it since the street is quite busy and there is a bar next door.”

“The room, 21, was overlooking Government Street. There are some lively venues nearby, which may bother some people, but my sister and I found it to be charming. I would stay in this room again, and I am looking forward to coming in the summer so I can see the flowers in the window boxes in bloom.”
