Hotel Rialto is a boutique hotel with Italian flair located in the heart of Downtown Victoria. It is located close to the best attractions, shopping and dining that Victoria has to offer. The Heritage building has been home to a hotel since its construction in 1911. It has undergone extensive renovation to make it the bespoke boutique hotel that it is today. Your arrival always starts with a friendly smile, and warm greeting from the Rialto team, and artisan cookies from the bakery around the corner. The Palms Inspired Kitchen & Bar —one of the top cocktail lounges and restaurants in the city—is located on the lobby level and ready to surprise and entertain your palate. Next door at Vintage Spirits, insightful staff are eager to help you choose an excellent bottle of wine or a craft spirit. Hotel's Favourite
Truly a wonderful boutique hotel with history & the staff absolutely amazing in every way. From fixing our reservation which we messed up, to every request met with "yes", how can I help.
It's about a 10 minute easy walk to the harbour. Oh ya, an awesome liquor / wine store in the same building. Just saying......
As an FYI, not an issue, the bar / restaurant is not owned & run by the hotel but as the hotel, awesome. They delivered 2 bowls to our room for food we did not order from the restaurant, ya....that's class. I met the owner of the restaurant, nice guy. He showed me the new sports bar opening soon.

This was our 4th stay at the Rialto, and we enjoyed our return visit. The hotel is in a bust area of downtown, across from City Hall, the waterfront is just a couple few blocks away. We stayed in a superior King room, it was very spacious, all the regular amenities which all functioned well. The room had windows on 2 sides, with very effective blackout blinds. There is noise from the street, being in the middle of downtown, but after the first night we were used to it and it didn’t bother us, earplugs are provided if needed. The room was very clean, and we only required a towel change midway through, if any room amenities need replenishment it is readily available .
There is a lounge/restaurant on the first floor, which we didn’t have the opportunity to check out, although we did miss the morning service of coffee and baked goods in the cafe. There is coffee and fruit available near the front desk, which we made use of every day.
The highlight of this hotel is the front desk staff, they are all very accommodating, knowledgeable and excellent at doing their job. The front desk staff leave you wanting to return, and we hope to again some day.

I've stayed at the Rialto twice. This past December, I needed a room in Victoria due to an early appointment in the city the following morning. I like the convenient location right downtown, within walking distance of many of the most important sights, shops and businesses. This time, I was checked in by a young lady named France. I indicated that I preferred a quiet room. She then asked me to wait a moment and she conferred with a supervisor. She then came back and announced that they had upgraded me to a larger room that she assured me would be quiet. The room was indeed large. It was also beautiful and blissfully quiet. I want to thank France for the excellent and efficient service, and the Rialto for offering a great place to stay in the heart of the city.

Amazing experience - I stayed for 12 nights in early June, the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, the room was perfect in every way. Great location in downtown Victoria, a ten minute walk to the harbour and all the amenities on Government Street, plus public transport and cabs freely available in the area.
Will definitely stay here again, thank you!

On our arrival to Hotel Rialto in Victoria, BC the manager, Jay Sono, greeted my husband and I. Jay was extremely helpful in informing us of places to go and where not to go, he made hard to get reservations and when finding out it was our 25th anniversary he upgraded our room to a king suite with a full kitchen, a separate bedroom and bathroom and a room with a full comfortable couch and tv. On the bed were towels that had been folded into the shape of swans and when together their necks formed a heart, next to the swans was a very nice bottle of wine. In the kitchen was a special treat of shortbread cookies and sparkling water. The room was very clean, quiet and comfortable. We could not have asked for better service as we were treated like royalty. We highly recommend Hotel Rialto for ones stay in Victoria, British Columbia

First, the hotel is nicely renovated, in a good location, staff are friendly and the room was clean but had an overwhelming smell of Febreeze or cleaning products. So much that we had to leave the windows open for hours. But there was a concerning mix up at check in. They "accidently" gave our room with a key to another person, who was very much using the room when we went to go in. He was very angry that we tried to come in (and rightfully so) but It left me with major concerns about the safety of this hotel. If multiple keys can be issued for the same room under completely different check in names, I was quite concerned about who could access our room when we weren't there. (Of course, we immediately locked the door as soon as we were inside.). I've stayed in 100s of hotel rooms and this situation has never happened before and I do understand that mistakes happen but...why bother checking for ID before issuing keys if it actually doesn't matter? I would not stay here again because of this reason.

Thank you for staying with us at Hotel Rialto and for sharing your experience. I will begin by apologizing for the error in distributing keys and the ensuing awkwardness. It was a rare human error - we take guest safety and security with the utmost seriousness. Procedures have been reviewed thoroughly with our team. I know the Manager on Duty had an opportunity to speak with you at length on property and made some recovery, but I do appreciate that this left you unsettled. I am very sorry for this incident; we have taken steps to ensure this won't happen again. I hope we will have an opportunity to recover your confidence. Please reach out to me directly as I would be pleased to personally arrange a future stay. Natalie

We had 2 nights and moved rooms on 2nd night as the 1st room was on the main road, which was too noisy for us. The staff were happy to oblidge with our request. Both rooms were well appointed and had underfloor heating in the bathroom. There is a bar and restaurant on site and was in a great spot to walk everywhere. Local buses run past the hotel to take you to Burtchet Gardens and fisherman's wharf. Both worth visiting.

The huge plus of Hotel Rialto is, as oft stated, is the location. If you are mildly adventurous, you can walk to Beacon Hill Park or even Fisherman's Wharf.
Unfortunately, I expected more out of the room. I booked a king size bed but I didn't expect it to be in a standard size room. Perhaps past experience has conditioned me to a larger room. Nonetheless, it was very comfy and afforded a good night's sleep IF you were not treated to the night time symphony of sirens from emergency vehicles on Douglas St. i.e. Trans Canada Highway. Of course, this is not the fault of the hotel but future guests should be aware.
Blackout curtains are indeed in place but not in the bathroom so the door had to remain closed at night which was also necessary to block the constant sound of something humming/buzzing emanating from the bathroom. There's no sneaking to the bathroom either in the middle of the night as the floor underneath the grungy looking carpet creaked loudly no matter where you tiptoed.
We were surprised to be informed that housekeeping was upon demand, meaning you had to request this service. Wouldn't it be standard practice to at least replace the coffee pods, take the dirty cups or mismatched wine glasses and empty the garbage even if someone didn't need the towels replaced every day? You can't blame everything on Covid; staff were no longer wearing masks.
Maybe I'll try them once more on my next visit.

Thank you for choosing Hotel Rialto and for taking the time to share your comments. Your comments around street noise are well taken - as a city center hotel we are subject to traffic noise from the 'main drag'. As a heritage property, all of our rooms are different - no two rooms are exactly alike, so some King rooms are slightly bigger/smaller than others, bathroom configurations are different and views are different. Our rooms in the interior of the building are less exposed to street noise and thus more quiet. We do continue to operate housekeeping service on demand, but the team is ready and happy to deliver amenities, towels, remove garbage etc at any time by giving the Front Desk a call. I apologize if this was not clearly communicated on check-in. We also continue to keep plexi barriers up, socially distance, limit elevator capacity and respect guest boundaries in-room but are pleased to provide stayover service as requested! The buzzing in the bathroom needs investigation - this is not acceptable and I am sorry this disrupted your stay. I appreciate your feedback as we are always striving to deliver the best guest experience possible. I do hope we can welcome you back again! Natalie

The service was excellent at the front desk, very friendly. My room was very clean & delicious in-house Lavazza coffee with cream that was kept in the fridge
That was a nice touch, usually you get coffee mate. I would definitely recommend it. Walking distance to everywhere downtown

No, proof of vaccination is not required to stay at the hotel, but is required to enter the lounge or restaurant in the building. Masks are required in all public areas of the hotel.
Thanks for choosing Hotel Rialto. We currently offer an individually packaged Continental 'To-Go' - crossant, fresh fruit & yogurt and it is complimentary.
There is 2 options. Find your own in a parking garage.
Or use the valet for $25 a day.
We used the valet. It was easy. And no hassle of getting the car from the garage.
We arrived by train and took the “water bus” (ticket fare required) to and from our hotel. Speaking with others, there is a further stop where one then makes transfer to Marco Polo. I read this comment online:
“They (taxis) can be expensive (a ride from Venice Marco Polo Airport can easily set you back 100 euros or more), but because water taxis hold more passengers than a land taxi does, the cost per person isn't too bad if you can split the fare with friends or a small group.Feb 17, 2010”
I don’t know hours of operation, especially at 4 in the morning. Why not contact the hotel?
I suggest reading about transportation options at the online italyogue
There is no hot tub or pool available.
