Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I was really excited when I found this online and I thought I had made a good choice. I was very wrong. This hotel/hostel is located right across the street from a very loud club. My room was on the second floor but facing the street. It was so loud and I got very little sleep. It didn't finally wind down until 4am. I came to BC to take pictures and sight see and this really put a damper on things. Also the internet didn't work and I had to pay 15 for a shady parking spot in the back alley. There was only one toilet and shower for an entire floor!!! This room ended up costing me 90 bucks just for myself. I had to pay for two people even though it was only me. The room was nice and clean and the people at the desk were nice but I wasn't happy with my stay there and I wouldn't stay again.

Hotel was a 10min walk uphill or so from railway. Check in was ok for my one night stay. Room is just that, no bathroom. Had a very strong disinfectant smell, which I soon became accustomed to. I guess the bathroom is a very long way down the hallway from my room.
Coffee is provided in kitchen area down the hall as well, best to get some thing from supermarket in town to go with coffee. Didn't have to queue for toilet or shower, but I was in off peak season.
Plenty of food places, as well as regular shopping places. I bought clothes in the winners store.
Lady at check out was quite friendly, and helpful. Wifi worked ok, and the safe in the room was good.
Would consider short term stay again.

It was a clean and renovated hotel. I would definitely recommend it if you're only staying for one or two nights as you don't have your own bathroom. There is a shared kitchen which could be nice for people on a budget. I didn't have any problems with anyone or anything, overall I can't complain about my stay. There was no elevator and we had heavy bags but again, if you're looking for a decent place to stay in the central area that doesn't cost an arm and a leg I would say this could be an option. However, it was still quite pricey for the quality compared to other places I've been for similar pricing.

Excellent hotel. Spacious airy rooms and excellent staff - especially Ionut in the kitchen and Silviu at the desk. Very kind and helpful gentlemen

The presence of Ionut and Silviu make this 4 * a 5 Star hot

It was a nightmare, staying at the Ambassador note in Vancouver. Its location seems central and cool, but it's very dangerous for small crimes.
The hotel charged me for more nights I spent. Its price is not fair. Warning.

So many bedbugs, disgusting. Can't be recommended. Reception and manager was unfriendly and not willing to help. Will never go back as this place. All luggage had to be frozen for two days to prevent bedbugs in my home :-(

This place was dirty, smelled and was unsafe. It also is a brothel. Do not stay here. The reviews on hotels.com were terribly misleading and the company was of no use in helping us defray the cost of getting a new room on a high demand summer weekend when nothing else was available (seriously). Will be using trip advisor or yelp to verify reviews. Hope this helps someone else. Very negative experience during an otherwise fantastic trip to Vancouver.

Checked into our room and paid, went up the stairs only to see dead bug carcasses under the sheets and bed bug like marks on the mattresses. Needless to say we got our refund and left immediately. Would not recommend.

If you don't want to catch scabies then do not go to this hotel!

Myself and 9 friends stayed at this hotel for 8 nights for spring break. During the stay we thought it was a good hotel for the money. There are shared private bathrooms and two additional toilets. This didn't bother us too much as we are used to communal bathrooms. However, on a few occasions I had to wait to have a shower. Also, the lock on the left bathroom was broken and I had someone walk in of me while showering. There is also a communal kitchen which was kept very clean, and came in hand for us to help keep the trip on a student budget. However, the oven and some of the other facilities were out of order.

Moreover, since we have been back half of the group has come out in red bits, which has been diagnosed as scabies!!!!

The lady receptionist working tonight, August 18, 2014 @ 2100 is very rude.
She must not have realized that we are paying guests at this hotel. The one bathroom to 20 units set-up I don't care, but I will never let any rudeness slip by.
My friends and I just got back from touring around vancouver and when we were about to get back in our room she rudely stopped us asking who we are and if we booked here. We've been here for 2 nights already, and she gave us a look like she doesn't believe us. She's white and probably because we are dark skinned she thought we were some crooks. Rude rude rude.
