After careful research I booked The Auld Dublin Guest House, which is on the outskirts of the city and a fairly direct route from the airport. Our incoming plan was delayed and so after picking up the car we arrived very late in the evening. Helen gave us a very warm welcome and was the perfect hostess during our two...

My wife and I stayed in Vancouver for a weekend and we stayed at the Auld Dublin Guest House. The owner was wonderful and gracious. The room was spotless and the breakfast was excellent. It is located a 10 minute drive from down town Vancouver so it is well located in a quiet residential area. I highly recommend this as...

City B&Bs are lots of fun! Auld Dublin is four blocks from great restaurants. It's a beautiful 15 minute walk to the train station so leave you car at the B&B. The waterfront is easy to get to. The B&Bs host, Helen, is enthusiastic and caring.

Found the Auld Dublin after some careful searching for a nice place for a five-day stay in Vancouver. I can't imagine any better choice. The house is located in an upscale residential neighborhood just two doors down from Oak Street. The area is quiet, tho' on-street parking gets a little tight when the Jewish center across the street has a...

We stayed at this B&B for several nights and used it as our base for tours in and around Vancouver. Near parks and restaurants, with a range of cuisines. Laundromat a short distance away and public transport available if you want it. Parking was in the street but we had no problems. Swapping stories with the Irish was a bonus.

Helen is a delightful hostess, with a spirited personality. She only rents out two rooms, normally for a minimum of two nights each. The whole house is quite nicely maintained. The breakfast area is very pleasant, and it leads to a lovely, little back yard. The house is set on a quiet side street (19th Ave). It's only a 10-minute...

Helen, owner and operator is a gem! Very comfortable and enjoyed our chats during our 2 night stay. Wonderful garden area outside and and livingroom inside. AC in the Garden room but still can be warm if you like a cool room during sleep. WiFi is very fast and actually works, no need to bring your own data like so...

I stayed here for a week and the owner Helen was friendly without being intrusive. The rooms are well appointed and each have their own bathrooms. Very clean and comfortable. I was able to choose my own breakfast, cooked or not and always a big pot of coffee for me. I was also able to make use of her deck...

My wife and I are frequent visitors to Vancouver, but hadn't stayed here until recently, when we had four nights at the end of September. We shall certainly try to stay here on our next visit. Very clean place, excellent food, reasonably priced, very friendly. Good for getting down to Broadway and Cambie for meals, not that far to the...

We had a fantastic stay at the guest house, Helen was a brilliant host. The Garden room was clean, great decor and very comfortable. Location was well placed, out of the city but in easy reach either via the bus just around the corner or the train straight downtown. The breakfasts were amazing, everything we would hope for and Helen...

Staying in Shaughnessy

Neighbourhood Profile
Shaughnessy
Residential neighbourhood to the ultra-wealthy, the gorgeous manor houses centred around The Crescent area are a fabled sight to behold. Shaughnessy is Vancouver's most verdant plotted neighbourhood, and its tree-lined streets, walking routes, bike trails, and charming public parks make for an ideal location to spend and afternoon communing with nature. Consequently, it is also the botanical centre of the city, featuring conservatories and an expansive Botanical Garden, taming and sculpting the wild into seasonal viewing areas and enchanting landscapes. Quiet, elegant Shaughnessy excels at providing the Three Gs: Gardens, Golfing, and Galleries.
