Stayed for 4 nights post cruise and couldn’t be more satisfied. Staff were friendly and very helpful even allowing an early check in and late checkout. Room was just what we wanted with a separate living room and nice view. Had food delivered from pub next door to our room which was good as the Auberge doesn’t have a restaurant.
Great place directly across the road for breakfast and loads of nice places to eat within 5 mins walk for other meals. Bed was really comfortable and shower was good including nice shampoo, shower gel etc.

We stayed at the Auberge from Oct 10th to the 15th. The location of the hotel is perfect, right in the core of downtown Vancouver and within walking distance of all major streets and shops, not to mention Canada Place where the majority of excursions/tours have their pickup point. We had a harbour view suite on the 12th floor and the room was spacious, with a separate sitting area and stunning views of the Port of Vancouver. The bed was too firm and not very comfortable and housekeeping could do a better job of cleaning (ie: vacuuming floors and dusting furniture). The televisions in the room do not have many channels available so if it's raining outside and you don't feel like venturing out you're basically screwed. The pool has re-opened but it was too much of a hassle to use it because you had to enter and leave the pool area fully dressed. Also, the front desk staff are hard to understand and not overly friendly. We gave this hotel four stars because of its location and the views but we would more than likely give a different hotel a try if we ever return to Vancouver. For the price you pay to stay at this hotel they should at least include a free breakfast, better housekeeping and at least one or two front desk staff where English is their first language. Overall, we had a pleasant stay.

Dear Mare D, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with the Trip Advisor community on your stay at the Auberge last October. If at any time during your visit you feel that you require additional housekeeping services, please do not hesitate to contact the Front Desk so that they may promptly assist you. The fitness centre and pool are the property of the private club housed in the building, and our guests have the privilege of using those facilities if they wish. Generally there are two Front Desk staff available who are fluent in English and the General Manager is always available to assist you should you have any queries. As for breakfast, there are numerous options within the immediate vicinity and within walking distance that are suitable at every price point and budget. Thanks again for providing us with valuable feedback.

Wheelchair accessible city view suite

We stayed at the Auberge for 4 nights pre cruise. We booked direct with the hotel and reserved a city view wheelchair accessible suite. There are 2 accessible suites at the hotel. We looked at lots of hotels (possible all the hotels in vancouver!) and found the layout of the bathroom worked well for us. The hotel were very patient with all my questions and also provided photos to help us. We booked a year in advance and could cancel up to 24 hours before with no penalties.

The hotel is perfectly located, a short walk to the cruise ship terminal and the waterfront station for the tram from the airport (although with a wheelchair and luggage we decided to take a taxi to and from the airport).
We walked everywhere from the hotel including gas town, china town, Stanley Park and granville island (via the aqua bus).

There is no restaurant at the hotel but the suite had a kitchen with kettle, coffee machine, sink, fridge and microwave. As we were trying to steer clear of covid before our cruise testing we tended to get take out rather than eat out. There were plenty of places nearby that did take out, including a 24 hour bakery/coffee shop just down the road.

We were worried about noise in the city, but we're able to sleep with the windows open and it was not too noisy.

The bathroom was perfect for my wheelchair using hubby. We only found a few hotels with accessible bathrooms that had a handrail to each side of the loo (North America standards don't seem to include a drop down rail which we need, and the Auberge had this and a further horizontal rail to the other side).

Staff were great at check in and also helpful with questions and local info throughout our trip.

The hotel has a pool, but I didn't see or use this during our stay.

On the morning of our cruise the close location to the cruise terminal meant I could pop down with our luggage before we checked out of the hotel and made our way to the cruise ship.

If we stay in vancouver again we wil stay at the Auberge again.

The hotel in Vancouver is definitely NOT recommended. In the building, floors 2-7 are business and the floors above is a hotel. The poor service started with getting into the hotel. With no porter at the door, you had to push you way through 2 set of large glass doors. With 2 suitcases, this was no fun, especially as I was walking with a cane and and my wife has COPD. Others who came trough the doors had the same problem. Other guests running to help people as the had trouble with the doors. There was a small door on the side that had an auto opening but it was useless.

When I checked in, they advised me they discontinued the continental breakfast and they mentioned it wasn't very good anyway. They checked the breakfast list and we weren't on the list. I asked them if we can eat in the hotel and they mentioned the restaurant was only for "club" members. We had to leave the hotel to eat breakfast. My wife with COPD wasn't impressed as she had trouble walking half a block. This was one reason I picked the hotel because we didn't have to leave to have breakfast All the tours we were on, we were picked up at the hotel door.
The second night there was a fire alarm at 1:30AM. We had to walk down from the 10th floor. The next day the rumor was that it was a false alarm from the restaurant. The issue I have is that there was not even a comment from the hotel about the false alarm. Like nothing happened.Other hotels we would at least get a letter of apology and explanation from the hotel management

When we left the hotel, they mentioned they would help us get to the ship, especially with my back problem and my wife's COPD. Their only help was to call a cab. People on the street had to help us with the luggage.

The hotel is rated very high but if you look at the questions, they only ask about the rooms, noting more. If they did, they would be rated a 1 or 2. I will post this on other travel sites as this hotel is very over rated and not recommended. They were busy because of their location, nothing more.

Dear Richard4444, Thank you for taking the time to comment on your stay with us last summer. We sincerely apologize that your visit at The Auberge was not up to your expectations. For guests with health concerns requiring assistance, we invite you to contact us directly prior to your visit so that we may ensure that you receive the attention that you may require i.e. getting assistance into and out of the building. To clarify the issue with the now defunct continental breakfast: we ceased serving it long before last summer, and had you booked back in January 2019 or prior to that with a booking that included the breakfast, you would have most certainly received a breakfast delivered to your door. If you booked after this date, there was no breakfast advertised on our website. In regards to the fire alarm in the early morning, it did result from the restaurant, and according to the hotel records, the Front Desk staff were escorting all the guests congregating in the lobby to the designated safe area, and then when the “all clear” was given, they were escorted back. The building’s security is issued at least 24 hours later and released to the hotel. Your safety would be the immediate priority to us, whereas the explanation (which we could not determine at the time since it was unavailable to us) is of secondary importance. And finally, your request for a porter needs to be ascertained when you arrive at the hotel and not when you leave. It is strongly recommended to book a porter in advance (i.e. upon check in) and not at the last minute, which means that it will be based on availability. Again, we apologize for any inconvenience you and your wife experienced during your stay.

We have travelled quite a bit and experienced a range
of customer care. I have to say that the front staff have exceptional & authentic customer care and service skills. We felt genuinely welcomed and taken care of. No “going the motions” to answer our questions etc. in fact, as an example… my key card didn’t work. Instead of just swiping and giving me
A new one, Cody escorted me to the 4th floor
Pool
To make
Sure
My key worked there and also made sure the keycard worked in the elevator for the floor of my room. He made sure everything was great instead of quickly swiping a key and hoping the next one worked. Also…Our bags were held to an entire day without hesitation as we had late travel plans the day we checked out. Cody was phenomenal! My phone battery died so when I came back to the hotel to get a cable from my bag that was being held, he kindly let me use the lobby to plug in and brought me a chair so I could be comfortable. The other staff were great too as they helped us plot our journey to the airport, printed everything for us so we’d keep the instructions straight, but we worked with Cody most. His level of professionalism and genuine interest in our enjoyment of the city as well as the hotel was impressive. His respectful demeanor, sense of humour and knowledge of the city helped to make the ending of our trip a highlight. I would highly recommend!! The rooms were fantastic as well. Very spacious, fabulous views and the fridge and microwave were very convenient. The 4th floor roof top was wonderful as well! It was the best experience we have ever had in all our years of travel thanks to Cody and the front staff.

This was an amazing hotel and our room was simply breath taking. We were staying here for two nights prior to a cruise and had the most amazing views of the cruise port outside the window.
The room was spacious and spotlessly clean and had a great coffee machine!
The location was really good and easy to walk to anywhere we wanted to go - including to catch our cruise ship - it literally took us less than five minutes.
The staff were polite, helpful and got us checked in quickly and efficiently.
There is an amazing bakery across the road that is open 24/7 and we enjoyed the food from there.
Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone - it is fabulous!

This is a great location with very friendly staff. The lobby and check in staff were very friendly and the housekeeping staff always said hello and good morning when we saw them.
The rooms are pretty quiet from the hallways and very modern with bedding and furniture.
Windows are quite thin when it comes to noise and if your room faces the street you'll hear everything from cars and sirens to even people just talking on the street. And we were on the 10th floor.
Overall we really enjoyed our stay here but would probably try and get a room away from the street, next time.

My wife and I stayed 4 nights at the Auberge and could not have been more delighted with our hotel choice in Vancouver. From the moment we arrived to our departure, the staff could not have been more welcoming, helpful and always available to provide advice/assistance.

Every morning when we left and at evening when we returned we were warmly greeted with a keen interest in our day. Carl on the front desk went above and beyond to ensure our restaurant choices were available, to provide directions and to make sure our room had everything we required. On one occasion we asked for fresh bathrobes and they arrived before we got to our room!

The rooms are spacious and well equipped with a small kitchen area , fridge and excellent, complementary well stocked coffee machine along with daily fresh bottled water. Daily maid service was exemplary and the room was always cleaned to a high standard.

The hotel is in an safe, excellent location right behind Canada Place. Don’t hesitate to book here for an excellent stay in Vancouver.

After arriving very late due to a delayed flight, we eventually found the hotel, next door to Breitling shop. It’s housed in what looks like an office building, so not the usual hotel entrance you’d expect to look for. The reception staff were very welcoming. The room was a corner room looking onto the harbour area and was very nice room. Clean and shower room was very nice with walk in shower. Fridge (which buzzed the whole night long on and off), microwave and sink . There is a bottle of water left for your first night and you refill it for any following days you stay.
There is no bar or restaurant so you have to go elsewhere for food and drink. Again something I didn’t pick up on before booking so be aware it’s purely a room only you get here.
Location is great ,especially if you are cruising as it’s literally out the front door and around the corner.
Nice area to stay and plenty options for breakfast. The bakery across the street and one block along was our favourite,

Dear Sheila M, We are very pleased that you found your suite comfortable and that our location is convenient. Though the hotel property is indeed housed in an office building shared also wth a private club and residences, once you come through the entrance, the first thing you will see is the front desk and our welcoming staff. If you visit our website, we have an easy to follow set of directions mapping our exact location. Our proximity to the many cafes and restaurants just outside our front doors offer so many choices especially for breakfast, and our guests seem to enjoy visiting some of these dining options. Take out is also available via food delivery services as well the Lions Pub, an on site restaurant in the building that is open for lunch and dinner. Just inquire at the front desk and they can direct you as well as make a reservation. Thank you for your comments; we hope that you had a pleasant stay with us.

This is a great hotel. The room layout (we booked double double city view suite) was good with great views and facilities were good with a fab bathroom. Customer service was really good. We felt safe and the location is outstanding. We stayed in other, more expensive hotels while in Vancouver but this by far was the nicest and cleanest with the best customer service and we wished we had just stayed there the whole time. It was tricky for us to find it as it doesn't scream 'hotel' but in the end, we decided that this added to its charm! We would definitely book here again.

If the hotel can’t provide distilled water, there is a Shoppers Drug Mart close by that will most likely sell distilled water. Good luck & hope you enjoy your visit to Vancouver.
