Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We are globetrotters based in Edmonton, and this was one of the most amazing hotel experiences we've ever had! I bought my wife tickets to Madonna in Vancouver and asked the hotel if they would do a little something special for the occasion. Wow did they ever!!! They upgraded our room, and when we opened the door there were balloons, wine, chocolates and even a framed picture of Madonna with a personalized greeting for my wife!! Beyond that, the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. A special thanks to Andrew for arranging the birthday extras and to Joel for his welcoming manner every day. This was an experience we'll never forget!

Hotel is modern and very well appointed, our room was extremely spacious and the bed fairly comfortable. The staff were superb, the bar and restaurants attached to the premises were top quality. But, unfortunately if you like to sleep, the base from the Bar/club kept me awake until it closed every night st 1 am. Not a choice for staying again.

I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights. They overcharged my card by $47 and claimed that my bank's currency exchange rate is at fault (between CAD and USD). I checked with the bank - transaction was submitted in USD and has nothing to do with different currencies. (Plus there was a separate transaction for mini-bar that has posted with correct amount, confirming that overcharge has nothing to do with currency rates) Exchange rates between USD and CAD is public information for any given date, and the daily fluctuations are tiny. Basic math with the worst possible exchange rate over the past months wouldn't give you $47 from $700 bill. About the hotel itself - it's modern and clean. Room was comfortable. However the hotel lobby entrance is located in the alley - not pleasant to walk to and from hotel. There is no sidewalk - definitely don't recommend in you have a child with you. There is another entrance from Georgia street but you have to walk through a very busy bar/lounge. That's where taxis often drop you off... and then with your luggage you are either getting through the bar crowd... or walking around the block under the rain (when the lounge is closed - you can't use that entrance, it's locked). Not a big deal but inconvenient.

The Paradox hit the mark today, totally impressing me from the minute I was greeted by their friendly receptionist at check-in. The process was quick, easy and efficient. Once inside the elevator, I was whisked up to a high floor that lead to a room featuring a sweet view of the water, mountains and city. The room was clean, well laid out and featured a nice sized bathroom, functional work area, comfy bed and a cozy chair for lounging while I enjoyed a complimentary cup of herbal tea and gazed at the beautiful views. If that wasn’t enough, within five minutes of my arrival, there was a subtle knock at the door. Upon opening it, a gracious staff member brought up a bottle of wine for me to enjoy. I love Vancouver and spend a lot of time there. I generally stay at the Rosewood Georgia, Shangri-La and of late the Paradox. They’re all nice properties in their own way. However, judging from my latest visit, the Paradox is quickly winning me over. In full transparency, after three nights at the Shangri-La this past week, I decided to check into Paradox. I’m glad I did because I was more comfortable there from a service, view and bed comfort standpoint (I prefer a firmer mattress). Thanks to the folks at Paradox Vancouver for making this visit truly enjoyable.

Super swanky hotel with great staff and amenities. They gave us a king suite with a tub which was an amazing room with really nice finishes. We also tried the heated pool and jacuzzi which were very nice especially for the winter. The staff offered nighttime housekeeping on top of the regular so everything felt really nice. We were able to secure a great rate through Booking.com so it also felt like we were getting a luxurious experience for a good price. Great location in the heart of downtown next to many great restaurants and the waterfront. Would definitely come back!

My wife and I came to paradox hotel Vancouver for a one night romantic stay. From the time we stepped into the hotel we were made to feel special. We booked via hotels.com and apart from the very friendly service desk attendant, we received a room upgrade and a complimentary bottle of red wine. We were offered to help with bags but we travelled light with backpacks so didn't need any help. Got to the room. Had a view over the harbour and the city streets. Wow is all I can say! Large room. Large bathroom. All felt new. Beautiful television. Automatic blinds, curtains, lights etc with a touch of a button. Provided ipad as well for other options which truthfully we didn't have time to utilise as our visit was brief. We did notice though that it didn't have internet access which would have been useful. On the TV although it was newish and large, we couldn't find any services like Netflix, Disney etc which would have made the experience better. The complimentary wine was not the standard cheap hotel fair. It was so nice that we took a photo so we can purchase it in the future. Towel decorations were a nice touch. Like being on a cruise ship. Room was so quiet, you couldn't hear any noise from the city. That was great as I'm a light sleeper. Also couldn't hear any neighbours or anyone from below or above us. Best soundproofing I've ever witnessed. You are provided with a text service so you can send a message for anything from your cell phone and the responses are almost instant. I ordered breakfast for the following morning at midnight and it arrived at 7am on a beautiful stainless trolley that remains in your room with all the things you could need to eat and water, glasses etc. Fantastic service. I texted in the morning when we were out to ask for a late check out. Instant response again offering a delayed exit option with help holding our bags. The service desk was helpful with directions to a bakery to keep us busy until our flight and the lobby has multiple nice lounge chairs for waiting. We didn't get to use the spa or pool. They were on the small side but definitely had heated water. Nice looking night club which we didn't get to use this time. Where we would like to see improvement: * Bed was comfortable but not super plush like some other 5 star hotels. Pillows were though and there were plenty of them. * TV would have been better with the Netflix etc. * Toilet door couldn't look as it wasn't aligned properly. * I got burnt with the water in the shower half way through my shower when it decided to fluctuate for no reason. * No complimentary airport shuttle - it's nice to feel special being picked up from the airport. At the end of the day every staff member including the cleaning staff were super friendly. I felt welcomed and left with a smile. I want to go out of my way to come back to this hotel again and definitely will. Thankyou for a wonderful stay. I hope the hotel can work on the improvements.

Excellent hotel for any party goers. It used to be Trump Tower, but they rebranded it and it looks even better. View is breathtaking, comfy beds. The pool that turns into a dance floor at night. Staff was very accommodating, so can't complain at all. We will be back for sure.
