The Hotel Belmont Vancouver MGallery garners praise for its stylish rooms and prime location, making it a convenient base for exploring the city. Guests commend the attentive and friendly service, despite occasional check-in hiccups.
While the hotel's cleanliness and unique atmosphere receive high marks, some guests feel the rooms are compact and the area can be noisy. The amenities, including luggage storage and bikes, add value, but some travelers question the overall value for money, pointing to the pricey services and modest breakfast offerings.

If you’re booking this hotel, the potential downsides should be clear (depending on what you’re looking for): It is right on Granville Street on a block of not exactly the world’s most sophisticated looking bars (the place next door had window ads promoting $4 Tequila shots), and probably interrelated the area tends to attract a decent homeless population. Not really a safety concern, but depending on where you’re coming from / familiarity with major cities….something to be aware of. And maybe some of those are upsides for the right party weekend…..but as I was booking it for a family trip, a bit different. For us on this trip, the price and the location (an event nearby) were right. And having looked at the hotel ahead of time, the rooms also were fairly nice. We paid a slightly upcharge at booking for a larger two bed room, and it was well furnished and stylish. That said - the AC/ventilation was fairly noisy. Upon staying though some other downsides were clear: 1) Parking - given the area has its challenges, having only outdoor parking on an empty lot next to the hotel seems not ideal. Upon our arrival there were people “hanging out” in the lot, and then the hotel doorman came outside on his own to encourage them to leave. While I wasn’t really worried about the car itself, I did happen to be traveling with a valuable bike in the car. I tried asking for a more secure indoor parking option in the area but the hotel was unable to provide any recommendations; they did however allow me to store the bike inside. Overall though I believe the hotel would be warranted to offer a more secure parking option - valet, partnership with a garage nearby, etc. 2) Breakfast - Breakfast was served in the bar, and we had paid for it as again a slight upcharge (something I would usually never do in North America). It was…not great. Powdered eggs, not exactly fresh bread/pastries, and sausage sort of options - it seemed more like what you’d get at a club lounge for free. Maybe my fault for buying, but probably not worth it. 3) Service at check in and checkout - It seemed like they were training new team members, and the person actually helping me wasn’t really communicating. When asking when the room would be available and being told “later”, without any sort of option or resolution….or when checking out handing them my card, and getting silence and them pecking away on the computer without saying anything….just kind of weird. Even just friendliness and better communication would help. 4) Super minor, but when you give free drink coupons that are only valid to 6 pm on a Sunday night? Like what? Is the time limiting really necessary? Overall, nothing really wrong with this hotel, and my concerns with parking were a bit unique for this trip, but also nothing really to recommend this place really.

We spent five nights at the Belmont and really enjoyed our stay. While the rooms aren't huge, they're set out nicely with pretty much everything you'd need for a short stay. The bed was UBER comfortable, and the soap, shampoo and conditioner provided was quite luxurious. We had breakfast inclued which was a buffet style selection of hot, cold and pastries, and was more than enough to get you started each day. The location of this hotel is fantastic. You're pretty much within walking distance to anything you want to do around downtown. The highlight for us were the staff, they were just wonderful. No matter who you encountered, they were so friendly and accommodating, and so very helpful no matter the ask.

Location Situated on Granville/Nelson Street the Belmont is a good starting point to explore the city of Vancouver. Lots of shops, bars and restaurants are in walking distance and the train station is just a 7-8 min walk up on Granville.
Check in We arrived a few hours early so our room had not been readied by that time which was not a problem as the hotel provided lugagge storage. Check in was swift and efficient. Together with the room keys we were also given two coupons for welcome drinks.
The Room We stayed at room #203. It featured a tiny wardobe with an iron and ironing board inside, a decent size garderobe to hang up the odd coat or shirt, a comfy yet fairly hard bed and a tv. Build into the frame of the bed you will find a drawer and a safe. On one of the night stands there was a capsular coffee machine and two bottles of water. Beware though, the water is not your standard free-of-charge water but will cost you 3 dollars per bottle. The bathroom was beautifully arranged with black fittings and nice tiles. A few amenities such as a shower cap and a hair dryer were also provided for.
Staff Both front office staff and the room maids were very friendly. The room was cleaned to our satisfaction and both coffee and water was restocked.
All in all, we enjoyed our stay at the Belmont. A big plus was the location and friendliness of the staff. On the negative side one should mention the size of the room and the lack of a fridge/mini bar, something one can definitely expect at this kind of property. Value for money was ok. Would I recommend staying here? Yes. The location and the overall good standard of the Belmont Hotel makes it a pleasent experience.

Don't get me wrong, there were good points to this hotel but it was not worth the value for money.
Firstly, the good points...
All staff were very friendly and to me that's significantly important so a tick for that.
The location is good, as it's central but that depends on where you'd like to stay. There is a great selection of restaurants a few blocks away and Yaletown is lovely trendy part of Vancouver.
The hotel itself and the room was clean and tidy (more on this below).
The shower was good and spacious.
We arrived early and like most hotels were able to leave our bags until check in a few hours later.
I was asked to join Accor Rewards for free which I did because it allowed us to have a late checkout.
Now the not so great points...
We weren't able to check in until 3pm which, although not unheard of, is later than most.
We were to receive a text advising when our room was ready for an earlier check in, however did not hear from them until we went back after 3pm to check in.
I'd requested a quiet room and it was to the rear with a small window that opened slightly into a filthy back patio type area. For me this wasn't an issue as I figured it would be a quiet room away from street noise. However in one of the rooms next yo us they must have been doing some sort of renovations as at 6.30am there was drilling and hammering noises that definitely didn't associate with a quiet room.
The room was very small with a large corner of it cut off, I imagine to accommodate one of the three adjoining rooms next door.
That left a very small area to get through from one side of the bed to the other side of the room. My partner tripped over because of it, and in the middle of the night, I banged my shoulder on the wall when going to the bathroom. If I can post photos here, I will.
The bed was small (good for snuggling but not so great if snuggling isn't your thing).
The tv was off to the side so not so ergonomically great.
The price, for me was excessive for what was offered. Yes, I know this was cruise ship season, but I believe it's price gouging. I don't like that very much.
The final thing that I wasn't particularly happy with was the holding fee of CAD$250 that can take a month to be returned to me. We stayed at a few hotels on the trip and all took a holding fee ranging between $10 and $100 but $250 is exorbitant, especially for a one night stay and no immediate return of the funds upon checking out. Yes, I am aware that may come down to the banking industry rorting other people's funds as they have them on hold until deciding to return but I am waiting on a significant amount of money to be returned from various banks (all of which will come back because there is nothing to be charged), but the holding amount for a one night stay. In my opinion is disgusting.
Will I stay here again? No, I will not, u less of course, I have no other option.

Room itself is OK but area despite close to shops seems run down. Our room - 502 - is noisy- constant hum of what I assume is an air con unit. So bad the windows vibrate. Asked to move but offered a room one floor down in the exact same location with a view of corrugated steel wall and the noise was even louder. Pretty poor experience so far

This is a well-located (Nelson & Granville) hotel where we were able to walk or take public transit from easily. The staff whether it be front desk, cleaners or Living Room, were all incredibly professional, helpful and friendly.
The rooms were funky and well laid out. The hotel is a real treasure and we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

My husband and I stayed for three nights upon arriving into Vancouver and thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The complimentary bikes were a huge hit and we loved having them, we rode each day. The location is great and very central, we loved yaletown for restaurants and bars etc which was just a small walk away. Rooms are small with limited space, but overall decent value for money given the high costs of accom in Vancouver overall. Very happy.

We had the best experience at this hotel!! Every single detail was thought out -whether we needed to borrow an umbrella to walk to dinner or borrow bikes, they had it all. The kindest staff ever and always willing to go above and beyond (I wish I remembered specific names but honestly it was everyone)! So so accommodating and provided awesome recommendations. We also loved the access to the restaurant/bar and we didn't hear any music or noise from our room on the 5th floor. The room was spacious, clean and luxurious. We loved the cute details and decor in both the lobby and room. Not to mention the location was great and we were walking distance to all restaurants/activities we wanted to try. I could not recommend this hotel more!! We will be coming back and recommending to all of our friends.

After the Airline Westjet cancelled our ( 2 couples in their late 50's) connecting flight we were given this hotel as the overnight accommodation they are mandated to provide . Westjet gave us a voucher which stated on it 1 room for 4 people . I was given repeated assurance by Westjet that the Hotel would give us two rooms . Anyone who has flown with this airline will know that they are charlatans and cannot be trusted. The hotel did not have two rooms and on a Saturday night was full to the brim !! The staff here were very sympathetic and gave us a suite which comprised of two double beds and a bathroom . Not ideal but after travelling for more that 30 hrs we were grateful for a bed . We found ouselves in a predicament over meeting tours in Calgary the next day and the reception staff were very helpful in allowing me to make some phonecalls to re arrange travel arrangements . I cannot stress how grateful we are to the reception girl and the manager for their help .
We did not have breakfast because we had to be up at 0500 and we crawled into bed at 2230 . The room was small but clean and beds were comfortable . The bathroom was clean and we couldn't really fault the room itself if it was for 1 couple or a couple with young kids.
However at about 2300 the music in the bar below started and didn't stop until aout 0300 . Then there was the noise from outside after that so I got no sleep at all ! If you want to stay here and partake of the music and nightlife until the early hours its great . If you want a good nights sleep forget it !

We have stayed here twice now and both times have been wonderful. This past weekend we attended a concert at the Commodore Ballroom and were within walking distance. I was also celebrating a birthday and had dinner downstairs, our great server brought a complimentary glass of champagne! Food was great. The room was just what we needed for our overnight visit. We will be visiting again on our next concert weekend, walking distance to The Commodore, the Orpheum, BC Place and Roger’s Arena. Please tell me where I can buy the body lotion in the room? It smells of peppermint!

Good day, unfortunately we do not have any shuttle services. There is a subway that we have called the Skytrain. It is CAD$2.95/ person. This ticket is also valid for the public buses. If you have a lot of belongings with you, I would suggest you to take a cab and it should not cost you more that CAD$25 front the Amtrak Station. To the cruise ship terminal it should be more or less CAD$10.
Hello there,
Parking is available with in-and-out privilieges for an additional 36 CAD including taxes per night, however it is on a first-come-first-served basis and cannot be reserved in advance.
Warm regards,
Nina
