The hotel is in very good condition and the downtown location is great. Easy walking to Canada Place and even Stanley Park. Great views from the top floors. Attended a conference there and all service was good.

The Fairmont Hotel Vancouver is a beautiful, historic hotel in a great location, but it is suffering from an identity crisis. The lobby is beautiful and feels like the right mix of modern and traditional, but step into the elevators and it's like stepping back in time. The hugely long hallways are in desperate need of updating. We had a...

Dear Portrankin, Thank you for sharing your feedback. As you note, our hotel is a mix of luxurious, modern style and the original architecture that makes Fairmont Hotel Vancouver the landmark hotel that it still is today. Our recent lobby rejuvenation aimed to bring our hotel into the modern century, without sacrificing the elegance that defines our atmosphere. That being...

We arrived to real service, from the doormen to the concierge. Our disabled access room was perfect although the view could have been better. The dining was excellent. I didn't try the pool and spa but they looked good. This is the original Fairmont in Vancouver and is right in the middle of the shopping and restaurant precinct. They even...

My boyfriend and I came to Canada and we originally booked at the Executive Plaza Hotel near the airport. To say the least, it was awful and knew we couldn't spend our trip there. I decided we needed to stay somewhere else, and this was the first place I called. I told them we needed a place last minute and...

The hotel was very nice and exactly what you would expect from a Fairmont. Classic and clean. The hotel itself was pretty busy as it appeared to have a bunch of events happening within the fairly large complex including a wedding. Located only 2 blocks away from Robson street, there were plenty of shops and restaurants around for your enjoyment....

My overall impression of the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver was that it was perfectly adequate, but a bit worn around the edges. My room was decent sized, but the furniture is a bit tired. Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
Vancouver's business district, the Downtown area is bustling with smartly-dressed folks balancing their lattes and briefcases to and from work. The area's plethora of contemporary commercial, residential, and corporate spaces has bred a landscape of nouveau restaurants, chain cafes, and upmarket shopping options. However, located right on the waterfront of Vancouver's energetic Harbour, Downtown is a also popular public meeting spot, with a massive public library and convention center attracting a bevy of visitors both local and not, as well as a hotspot for the arts, being home to some of Vancouver's most cutting-edge galleries. With behemoth architecture and a professional air, Downtown means business.
