Fantastic B&B experience in quiet leafy Vancouver location. Arrived outside office hours, but pickup key arrangements were made that was easy. Booked Shangri-La suite which was just lovely, very big room & a treat to spread out after arriving from Europe with jet lag in toe! Accidentally set off fire alarm but wasn't a problem, David & Michael were brilliant...

My husband and I and my nephew and his husband were here for three days and we decided this is where we stay any time we come to Vancouver. Michael checked us in very efficiently and was a storehouse of information about the West End, including vegetarian options for my nephew. David is a most gracious host and very good...

Went to Vancouver for a conference at the Wall Center (very expensive). Was please to find the highly rated Nelson House within easy walking distance down a cherry-blossom-lined street. Stayed in the Vienna 4 nights and then the Hollywood one night. The Vienna room and bed were comfortable but a step stool would have been helpful to get into the...

Thank you so much for your thoughtful comments. It's so nice to hear back from an experienced B & B traveller. Breakfast is such an important start to the day. We make sure even very early risers don't miss out and we want those who have the time, to visit awhile over real home cooking and baking. You will be...

Casual, informal, and very welcoming space close to all of the West End. Book the larger penthouse if you want some space to stretch out. We met other couples, but the space did not seem crowded. We were greeted with a local map and give suggestions on how to maximize our short time there.

The best thing about this B & B is its location and hospitable service provided by Michael. The establishment itself is quite old (noticeably) and "tastefully" decorated. The bathroom shower is tinier than the tiniest phone booth (don't drop the soap because you'll never be able to retrieve it) and some of the furniture is in need of replacing. Notwithstanding...

Hi Big Red, Thank you for your comments on our great location and helpfulness. We don't charge extra for the laughs but rates do include full breakfast, wifi and parking - a real premium downtown. We are quite proud to have preserved the antique charm of our 108 year old home. Considering the number of times we mention this on...

Wonderful hospitality, great breakfast and a perfect location downtown. Stanley Park, Granville Island, Canada Place, Gastown and more all in walking distance. The hosts make you feel at home and give you lot's of useful information on the city and surroundings. I had a great stay, definitely recommended.

Pros: Welcoming service from Michael in the mornings for breakfast. Nicely cooked main dish. Plenty tea and coffee. Fairly good location - 10/15 min walk from restaurants and shops in downtown. Memory foam pillows. Cons: we had the Cabin room which was a nice size but windows had blinds without curtains so not really dark enough for us. The bathroom...

Dear Z1000sxBabe, Michael’s breakfasts are justly appreciated. Our table for eight is always a full, happy table by breakfast’s end. No one else has mentioned Cabin’s bathroom size or spotty wifi but we will look into it. The wooden blinds are exactly as pictured on our website. You must be glad to be home after your long trip! A wonderfully eclectic and charming old house filled with antiques, memorabilia and shelves of books. Hosts Michael and David were friendly and knowledgeable about the attractions in Vancouver. And they both cooked up a storm for breakfast every day. Fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereal, juice and a different hot course every morning. We stayed in the Bombay room, which was gorgeous,...

A nice quiet location within easy walking distance of Stanley Park, Robson Street and David Street. Lots of Restaurants near by on what felt like safe walking at night. Clean rooms and top notch breakfasts. Helpful ideas on things to see without over suggestiveness. We would stay again.

What luck to find this place to stay in downtown Vancouver. Quiet, homely and characterful building ten minutes walk from the centre of town and harbour and near to the beaches for sunset watching. With clean, quirky bedrooms, a lovely welcome and Michael's amazing breakfasts, we absolutely loved our 4 nights here and recommend it highly.

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along with the sunrise, offering breathtaking views at any time of day. The West End merges together so many looks and flavors probably because it functions a hub: its the leafy pit-stop between nightlife and entertainment venues along Davie Street, and the shopping paradise that is Robson Street, offering visitors beautiful parkland to rest on, and quick, easy food to re-fuel with in between ventures.
