Located two blocks from the beach and Vancouver's sea wall, two blocks from Stanley Park, two blocks from a delicious assortment of international eateries, and two blocks from the bus stops. There cannot be a more convenient location. The Inn is nestled between two high raises in a charming, quiet, beautiful residential neighborhood. The breakfasts are delicious; served in a...

This small, intimate, and beautifully decorated B&B is the perfect spot to walk to many sites in Vancouver. Alberto is there to welcome you and cook a wonderful breakfast with fruit and a different main dish each morning. We took advantage of enjoying the living room and the covered outdoor patio to enjoy a glass of wine and snacks. We...

This inn is a very enjoyable B&B type establishment (and not to be confused with the very different English Bay Hotel that’s located on Denman Street). This inn’s location on Comox Street is perfect. It’s on a pleasantly quiet street, but only 2 blocks from busy Denman Street with its plethora of restaurants and shops and it’s only a 2-3...

My pattern was the same almost everyday that I stayed here. After an extremely tasty and ample breakfast, I would walk a block and half to Denman St. and buy a day transit pass at the 7 Eleven on the corner. The number 5 bus will take you to Robson - shopping, art museum, more restaurants. The C21 will take...

We spent 6 days in room 5 at the English Bay Inn. This is a comfortable 2-level room at the top of the house. Alberto made us feel at home and cooked a variety of wonderful breakfasts, including salmon frittata, french toast, omelettes, salmon quesadilla, and croque madam. Each breakfast also included a fresh fruit salad, excellent coffee, orange juice,...

A charming B&B, with gracious hosts Alberto and Jacy. Excellent breakfasts -- omelets, quiche, fresh fruit, good coffee and juice. Our family of four stayed the first 3 nights in Rooms 4&5, then together in the basement suite (with kitchen) the last 3 nights. Room 5 was a delightful loft unit, and the basement apartment suite was nice for the...

We stayed for a week and English Bay Inn felt like home but with better breakfasts. An excellent place to stay and an ideal base to see most of downtown Vancouver from. Jacy made booking easy and Alberto was a very helpful host and cooked excellent breakfasts. We especially loved the fruit plates and the good coffee but the omelettes,...

Our family of 8 got 4 rooms at the English Bay Inn. We loved the hospitality we received from Alberto. He made delicious breakfasts and was very accommodating to our family. The rooms do not provide A/C units but with the open windows, it was very cool. My only compliant was that it took a while to cool down room...

Had the best time here for 3 nights the day after Christmas. Got an amazing deal where our third night was free. The breakfasts were phenomenal, restaurant style and huge. I'm gluten free and they more than accommodated me. The place itself is adorable and cozy. Fireplaces and gorgeous details and is in the BEST location as a tourist. A...

This place is a real gem. Doug is a great host and will ensure that you have an easy and comfortable stay. It was my first time staying in a bed and breakfast and it was lovely. There is complimentary port and sherry and the breakfasts are INCREDIBLE. He begins with a seasonal fruit plate, then some kind of breakfast...

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along with the sunrise, offering breathtaking views at any time of day. The West End merges together so many looks and flavors probably because it functions a hub: its the leafy pit-stop between nightlife and entertainment venues along Davie Street, and the shopping paradise that is Robson Street, offering visitors beautiful parkland to rest on, and quick, easy food to re-fuel with in between ventures.
