This budget accommodation is a great central point for exploring downtown Vancouver. We caught the train from Vancouver airport to Vancouver City Central station. We were able to walk to Granville Island, Stanley Park, Gastown and Chinatown. We had a private room - 116, which was located at the back of the building on the first floor. As it's downtown...

A standard hostel. Good private bathrooms. Much quieter than others I've stayed in in Vancouver. Also this particular location is the best HI in town. My first room the AC was broken and it was BOILING, but they were more than happy to move us rooms - very helpful!

I stayed here after trying to find a reasonably priced hotel in downtown Vancouver and couldn't find anything under 300$. This hostel was half the price for a private room with two beds and our own bathroom. Still expensive for a Hostel, but that weekend was expensive everywhere in Vancouver and being centrally located was important to us. The staff...

Location is close to Davie village which is cool, but not as close to downtown as some might like. Rooms were clean enough, bathrooms are old school hostel: rows of toilet cubicles and tiny showers. Not bad but not as modern as some. Good to save a few dollars but don't expect too much luxury.

Hotel prices are high in vancouver, at least that's what I think. To cut the cost a bit, chose this hostel, booked a room with private bathroom. I still think with a bit overpriced rooms. Small room, stuffy, clean enough bathroom. Didn't visit the dorms so can't comment. The big plus with this place is the helpfulness of the staff...

Dirty- no air con- terrible customer service- and we saw two (let's just say) "pests" on the same floor as the kitchen. Stayed here for 10 nights and probably had 1 good nights sleep. Seriously Samesun is a lot better

We were horrified by the price of the hotels in Vancouver as decided to stay at the hostel, but in a private double room. The price is still expensive, and would buy you a good hotel room in Europe. The rooms are OK and clean. Breakfast is included, but is minimal. The staff is friendly and helpful.

Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent washroom facilities. Hostel clean everyday with a good 'help yourself as much as want' breakfast buffet spread. Very busy during peak month of August when my family stayed in two private suites. Because of its central location, very accessible via foot/or bus within Vancouver Downtown. Lots of eating places nearby.

I stayed in a 2 bedroom. The size of the room was ok. The washroom outside the room was clean and you had never to wait for a long time until you could use it. The breakfast was good, but there was almost no space to sit. The best thing for me was that I got to know my room-mates...

This hostel is fine for the 3 nights we stayed. Rooms and hostel were a little dated but it wasn't anything to fret over! Locations is pretty good, but in the 'party zone' of Vancouver - so young females might find it bothersome to walk at night. The breakfast is great with cereals, bagels and fruit, kitchen might be a...

Staying in Granville Street

Neighbourhood Profile
Granville Street
Granville Street spans many, multiple city blocks and has become so fastidiously known for its nightclubs and watering holes that it's fondly nicknamed the city's 'Entertainment District.' Friday and Saturday nights are the most popular and lively, with young revelers taking to the streets in droves and keeping the party going until late. Granville Street, being mostly open to pedestrian-only traffic, has a healthy social life along its main thoroughfares, even outside of its cafes and pubs, spilling onto the sidewalks. The locals are chatty, the shops at its expansive Pacific Centre Mall are trendy, and the whole area seems to be on a sugar rush: in a good way. Exuberance and camaraderie classify this neighbourhood.
