Vancouver is, by the parameters of many countries, an expensive city. In that context I can say that YWCA’s greatest strength is its value for money.
As strengths I could also draw the attention all the time friendly people from the reception, who advise and help you with what they need even beyond their obligations; also the cleanliness of the establishment and its location, very close to several very central and popular neighborhoods of the city.
I stayed in the cheapest room in the hotel, and it was great. I think it has others even more comfortable, for example with the private bathroom.
It does not offer breakfast, but a rich complimentary coffee, in the morning, in the lobby.
And it wasn't very clear to me the activity of his foundation, but it's enough to know that he's dedicated to helping girls who need it. Excellent.
I would stay at the nice YWCA again, and recommend it.

I would stay here again 100%. We bookended a trip to Tofino staying here and the service was excellent both times. We arrived by train very early and got to the Y at about 8:00am (20 minute walk from the train station fyi) Obviously they couldn't check us in so early but they stored our bags for us, gave us the password for the wifi so we could get ourselves sorted and lent us umbrellas so we could go out and explore the city until we could get checked in.
They have dishes you can use if you decide to get outside food. There are plenty of towels and the toiletries are quite nice and are refillable large bottles helping with the waste of small single size ones.
The beds were really great and there were plenty of good pillows. We used the laundry ($2.25 per load). it was very convenient to have. There are machines on floors 3, 6 and 9.
Close to everything and excellent service. Transit is a short walk away. We will see you again!

I stayed in a room with two single beds and shared bath and shower. On the same floor as my room, there was a room with only a bath and a room with a toilet and shower, so I could choose whichever I wanted. I only took a bath once a day, so it wasn't particularly inconvenient. The room was clean and comfortable. Laundry cost $6 in total: $2 for washing, $2 for drying, and $2 for detergent. Accommodation prices in Vancouver seem to be rising, so I was glad to be able to stay at a reasonable price. I was also happy that there was free coffee and water in the lobby.

I love this hotel. I stayed here about 12 years ago and had a good experience so decided to try it out again. It only got better. The room felt cleaner than most hotel rooms I’ve stayed in, all staff were extremely friendly and it feels safe. We were four women in a room and it was still roomy and had everything we needed. Great location, awesome hotel. Will stay here whenever I’m in Vancouver.

Stayed here after flying (direct!) from Zürich on my way to NW Washington state an again on my way back. This is not a 5-star international luxoid business hotel, but it gets 5 dots: you get a simple but clean room (including a sink & fridge in the room), great location, great, friendly helpful staff, all at a good price (Vancouver hotels are crazy expensive) AND: best of all, they reinvest all profits back into the community, supporting women in all walks of life. So you get a good clean safe friendly place to stay and you're helping support women's needs in the community! BTW Vancouver is a FANTASTIC city, if you don't already know!

We chose the ywca hotel due to the lower rates compared to other hotels in Vancouver. I also love the fact that 100% of the profits go to women and children’s programs! It reminded me of a college dorm as we had to share a bathroom and kitchen. I never had to wait for a shower or toilet and it was never a problem. You could use them on any floor as well. The shower was tiny on our floor but we just went up one floor and used the tub/shower. We had a twin twin room for me and daughter. A bigger bed would be nice but we knew we were getting budget room. The room was very comfortable with a great view. Loved the rooftop patio. My daughter used the gym which could have more items but it worked. The tv lounge was under construction. Loved having an atm in lobby and all the vending machines in lobby. It was nice to have such nice kitchens to use. Desk staff was very helpful. Great location near downtown. We used public transportation all week and even from airport- about 4-5 blocks from train stop from airport. It’s next to football stadium if going on game week. I would stay here again

Friendly, helpful, a great location, clean, and supporting local programs and services for women and children, rather than corporate profits.
I stayed in a small comfortable single room with shared bathroom down the hall. It was great value and I did not have issues accessing the shared bathroom (which was kept very clean) when I needed it, though the hotel may not have been full during my stay. I look forward to returning and this will be my go to lodging when I visit Vancouver.

This place is spotless, well run, has a great price and excellent location. It is secure. I was travelling on my own for a concert and felt very comfortable in my single room with toilet/shower down the hall. Staff is very helpful and friendly. My husband and I stay usually stay at more upscale hotels but this time it was the only room I could get. We will definitely stay here in future as it had ample amenities and great location.

We had a great stay at YWCA, the reception staff were very supportive and helpful. As we travelled with our 6year old we had the need of kitchen. The receptionist staff has given us the room very close to kitchen and provided all essential utensils. Coming to cleanliness part, the room and the bathroom was very cleaned and they clean the room daily which is much appreciated 👍 As the check-in and checkout is 4-11 the staff will provide an option to keep the luggage with them in the storages which is a great advantage for the guests, that they keep the luggage and roam around.
Highly recommended for families with kids. 5* rating from our end. Thanks YWCA.

The YWCA was ideal for our needs in a city where it is difficult to find reasonably priced accommodation. Location-wise, it suited us as we were relatively central and close to our tour pick-up and drop-off. We enjoy walking so that was great. Initially, we were unsure about the bathroom sharing, but the system was simple and luckily we never needed to shower while our neighbours were in. The staff were superb and efficient, friendly and helpful. It is also great to patronise a not-for-profit as benefitting others adds that feel-good factor to your stay.

I have always had to provide a valid credit card number in order to secure a reservation. Payment was not due at the time of reserving. Payment was due at the time of checking in. I’ve always paid with a credit card, but I imagine that they accept cash payment as well. You could get the answer by emailing them directly.
