I stayed three nights in this hotel in January 2017. My first two nights were on my own so I booked one of the budget rooms with shared facilities. The room was comfortable and both it and the bathrooms were always clean. I travelled with a massive suitcase which didn't fit in the closet, so the room was pretty cosy....

We stayed in the budget room where you have to share a bathroom. It was awesome - our room was small but beautiful with lovely old hardwood floors and a couple of beautiful antiques, and the shared bathrooms were spacious, modern and clean. The shower was awesome. We never really ate the continental breakfast, but it looked great - fresh...

I really enjoyed staying here as a solo traveller new to Vancouver in one of the second floor rooms. While it was easy on the budget, in no way did it feel cheap like a hostel might. Staff were friendly, rooms were cosy, tidy and comfortable, and the shared bathrooms were modern and well-kept. The location is central and convenient...

Well Stuart, I have to first say we really appreciate your comments and secondly, you have to return to Vancouver. It's an entirely different town when the sun's out. December is fun but being able to explore the outdoor cafes and bars or walk the seawall on a sunny day is heaven. We hope to see you in the spring...

I loved my stay here. The location is central, lots of walkable places nearby. The hotel itself is very charming, and to save a buck or two I stayed in a "Euro Style" room which meant you didn't have your own toilet or shower in your room. BUT, there are I think two showers and four toilets on the floor,...

Stayed here for two nights to celebrate our 4 year anniversary over the weekend. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean, with a ton of antique charm. Despite other reviews we did not find it noisy at all, and slept quite comfortably. Parking was extra, but reasonable for Vancouver and in a locked area behind the...

My husband and I had a party to attend downtown. We didn't want to drive 2 hours home afterward so were looking for a hotel to stay in that didn't break the bank, was within walking distance of where we were going and was clean, safe and fun too. We found all that in the Victorian Hotel. The staff who...

Well Tiara-Julie, it sure sounds like you had a great great time. It sounds like the party went well. But really who cares if you can get hooked up with a knock-out brunch. The ultimate cure all. We will await your next sojourn into the big city.

What a great stay!! The location is in the perfect central spot allowing for easy walks to whatever we needed. The staff were very friendly, rooms extremely comfortable and continental breakfast had the best croissants ever!! This is my new favourite place and we be my absolute go-to hotel whenever I'm in #YVR. Awesome and thank you!

We booked a room via Wotif for a 2 nights stay. I cancelled the booking the same day by emailing the hotel directly. They advised me I had to cancel with Wotif which I did and thought nothing more of it until I was charged for the stay. Both the Hotel (GM Brian) and Wotif blamed each other and bombarded...

Sir, I understand your frustration, the problem is, you did not cancel your reservation with the company you booked it with and as a result we held your guaranteed reservation (on a night which we were sold out). Just the sheer number of reservation transactions we handle compel us to adhere to the basic booking procedures which you, unfortunately failed...

Staying in Gastown

Neighbourhood Profile
Gastown
A visit to Gastown is like turning back the clock and stepping into a bygone era. With the distinction of being Vancouver's oldest neighborhood, the many plaques that stud the cobbled streets of Gastown tell the story of its colorful past, giving Vancouver's history a more lively presence here than anywhere else. Having been originally founded around a popular worker's saloon, it's no wonder that today some of Vancouver's best micro-breweries, creative cocktail joints, and corner bars can be found in this area. Classical charm suffuses its many vintage boutiques and the brick-built structures that an army of creative professionals call home.
