I always stay at the Sylvia since I’ve moved away from the lower mainland. Nothing compares to it and it’s so unique. I love the small queen rooms or I think one was called “the closet” and especially if I get an ocean view. Keep up the awesome work!

Hotel's Favourite
A European experience in a fantastic location. Excellent dining room and superb service. It's a historic hotel in Vancouver (1912) but has been renovated. Simple, comfortable and within walking distance of other excellent restaurants, Stanley Park and across the street from an oceanside walking trail.

Great location with ocean views. Friendly helpful staff. Good service and delicious foods on the outside patio. Chilly rooms and no signage for heater controls. Very clean rooms but worn out sofa bed.

Outdated, and I was not happy with the service. But they have very nice restaurant over looking the english bay. Very close to seawall trail, walking distance to granville market and 2 miles from waterfront.

Dear Roseboland, Thank you for taking the time to share this review. Great to read that you enjoyed our location and restaurant. It is very appreciated! I'm sorry, though, that you felt our property to be outdated. We are a heritage building and with that comes the old and cosy feeling. in the recent 3 years, we have gone through complete bathrooms renovations and refresh of the guestrooms. I sincerely hope this will not refrain you from visiting us again on your next trip to Vancouver. We hope to welcome you back again soon. Gaetan Bottier General Manager

The location is very central-- close to the beach, Denman St and within walking distance to St Paul's Hospital. I felt very safe with their Covid protocols. Room and food services were very prompt and good. There's parking on site and the hotel is pet friendly. We had the king room which also had a pullout couch. The view over English Bay was spectacular. I would recommend this place.
