They have an ideal location. A 5 minute walk to Sunset Beach (sand, walking & biking paths included); eateries, markets and the bus line are around the corner on Davies street. Our suite was perfect for 2, but would be crowded with 4. A good continental breakfast is included and you carry it back to your suite. For 50 cents...

The hotel staff is very friendly and efficient. Very clean and we like the one bedroom suites. The suites have balconies and it is a great convenient and quiet location. Easy walking to many restaurants and activities. Walked to Century Plaza to get the free shuttle to Capilano Suspension Bridge.

This hotel offers large, comfortable rooms with small balconies. The room offers a kitchen with stove and fridge. It is in a quiet location but a busy street is within a block with many small restaurants and bus transportation. The beds are comfortable and the room is quiet. Breakfast is furnished but you have to bring a plate from your...

Ideally located accomodation with large well appointed room. The continental breakfast is handy with a good range, including fresh fruit. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Davie Street is only a short walk where there are many restaurants, coffee shops and other stores. "The Independent Grocer" is close by and has wide range of groceries, fruit and vegetables, cooked chickens...

Excellent stay great hotel. Staff very friendly (except one) very helpful and good knowledge of attractions. Rooms spacious, with good facilities, waffles for breakfast, which you cook yourself, Arsbellla on reception exceptionally nice. Plus we required an early check in and they allowed this and gave us a couple of hours later on check out, because of an evening flight

Cant find a single thing to complain about. The thoughtfulness, attention to detail, location, comfort, convenience, cleanliness, friendliness, and value of this hotel are all amazing. I could go on and on but it will just make me sad about leaving. You will feel super smart about your decision to stay here and proud of yourself for travelling like a...

Hotels in Vancouver are as overpriced as in Hongkong etc., so my usual standards like Hyatt, Hilton, Westin etc. were out of the question for a private trip. So based on the reviews I chose this one instead. The hotel is an somewhat aged concrete "thing". It looks well maintained from the outside but not very appealing or modern. But...

We loved the tree lined neighborhood and the easy walk to the Granville ferry- the trip to the island was the reason for our after cruise stay. Everyone on the staff was helpful and friendly. The family suite is large and lovely. We picked up dinner items on the island. Dining in, we drank our wine, ate our cheese, and...

Front desk staff was terrific. The Continental breakfast was better than adequate: had worse and had better. Location was central to all the things we were interested in seeing/doing. The king suite room was fine, with everything we needed. Enjoyed sitting out on the balcony. Fairly quiet, considering just one block off a main street. All in all, would stay...

This is a small hotel hidden within a tree lined, quite neighborhood. Views of the city from small balconies are on most floors. We had a suite with a small kitchen, full dining table, sitting room with HDTV, and two couches that made into beds if we had had children with us. The bedroom also had a TV, and the...

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along with the sunrise, offering breathtaking views at any time of day. The West End merges together so many looks and flavors probably because it functions a hub: its the leafy pit-stop between nightlife and entertainment venues along Davie Street, and the shopping paradise that is Robson Street, offering visitors beautiful parkland to rest on, and quick, easy food to re-fuel with in between ventures.
