The Moda Hotel has an excellent location and a fine restaurant and provides a good value. In particular, I'm happy to report that when I had an issue with my hotel room the first night the staff provided me and my wife with a new and larger room and comped the first night to boot, which I wasn't expecting. As...

We stayed at this hotel for 1 night back in March and enjoyed the location of this hotel in the city, close to shops and a great dog park just down the block. Staff were very helpful and the decor in the bedroom itself was fine although the bathroom was small and was in need of a touch up. Only...

We tried the Moda as a reasonably-priced choice. It's an old building and not everything has been updated, but the important things were fine. Bed was a bit hard for my taste, but the place was clean and did NOT have that nasty "hotel sanitizer" smell. Wifi was good enough. The shower was very weak but the bathroom had space...

We stayed here for three nights on arrival in Vancouver. Room was small, but clean and nicely decorated. As with all city centre hotels it was noisy with the windows open, so the aircon was much appreciated! Staff very friendly and helpful. We were even given free tickets to a live music venue down the road called Fanclub which was...

I decided not to splurge for an overnight stay in Vancouver, so I decided on a boutique hotel. Hotel is in an old historic building so you wouldn't expect any kind of luxury. However, I would have at least expected that the AC would work. The room temp was a "balmy" 81 degrees all night. Since we were leaving to...

Staff, sullen and unhelpful; room dingy and unpleasant. Paper thin walls, small tv, grungy carpets, sheets made me itchy, obnoxiously loud AC, not to mention faint smell of cat. Learn from our mistake book another hotel in this magnificent city.

This was my first disappointment since using tripadvisor. The room was dank. Smelled of throw-up. Beds were hard but appeared to be clean. The hallways smelled of old and musty from what it appeared to Be water damage that wasn't properly resolved. The location of this hotel is central but I would NOT recommend wasting your time or money. P.s....

This has the potential to be a nicer boutique hotel if the rooms had some major renovations and updating. Switch had to be in right place for TV to work, room was stuffy, hallways smell moldy, paint chipped all throughout bathtub. Staff were all quite nice, and they give you ONE guest pass to the great Steve Nash fitness club...

Stayed here for 2 nights and was very happy with it. The location is great, it's right in the city and close to everything. Staff were very friendly and helpful. There were 6 of us so we had 3 different rooms- one room was quite small but the others were decent sized. We had no issue with noise- there is...

Staying in Granville Street

Neighbourhood Profile
Granville Street
Granville Street spans many, multiple city blocks and has become so fastidiously known for its nightclubs and watering holes that it's fondly nicknamed the city's 'Entertainment District.' Friday and Saturday nights are the most popular and lively, with young revelers taking to the streets in droves and keeping the party going until late. Granville Street, being mostly open to pedestrian-only traffic, has a healthy social life along its main thoroughfares, even outside of its cafes and pubs, spilling onto the sidewalks. The locals are chatty, the shops at its expansive Pacific Centre Mall are trendy, and the whole area seems to be on a sugar rush: in a good way. Exuberance and camaraderie classify this neighbourhood.
