As we have been unable to travel outside of the lower mainland due to Covid we have been having mini weekend staycations. This was by far the best hotel to date. The staff were attentive and friendly and the little touches made all the difference in feeling like it was a real get away. They have ‘real’ glasses, open Spa services, actual housekeeping, turn down, room service … The rooms were clean and well appointed. The Hotel is attractive throughout and feels welcoming. We would willingly stay here again and look forward to hopefully being able to.
We stayed here just for one night for our anniversary. I was born in and have lived in Vancouver all my life. I remember the Wedgewood opening her doors and have watched this hotel remain a jewel in the city. I really don’t know why it took this long to stay. It was a perfect stay. Michelle, at the front desk, had a friendly greeting for us. We were checked in quickly and efficiently. The valet took care of the car. Our suite on the 11th floor, looked west towards the Sutton Place hotel. A good view of some of the city buildings. No, not a water view, but after all the times I’ve stayed at hotels with water views in this city, I enjoyed the Wedgewood better. The west side might be quieter than the east as you’re further from the road. The linens and towels were what you would expect for a luxury hotel, including Frette robes. Amenities are L’occitane. Keurig coffee..but only 2 pods. Lots of teas. Very comfortable bed and both rooms had blackout curtains. Good lighting for reading in bed, bathroom lighting is fine. Use the lit mirror for help with makeup, finding new wrinkles or whatever. If you love baths, the bathtub is deep but not wide like some might like. Shower pressure good. We went to Bacchus Lounge for drinks and then stayed for dinner. Loved it there. While we came back, we were surprised to see that turndown service still exists! A little thing but I certainly appreciated the two cookies, bottles of water and the bed ready. We had our breakfast delivered to the room the next day. Nice to be able to enjoy coffee and a continental breakfast while wrapped up in the Frette robe. For those not familiar with the Vancouver area, the Wedgewood is in a perfect location! So close to many shopping area, lots of restaurants, transit, the waterfront is a short walk, art gallery , courthouse etc. Thanks to the owners, managers but most importantly to the staff at The Wedgewood for creating an elegant yet warm place to stay.…
Never in my life have I had a worse experience at a hotel. The staff violated our privacy in a most disrespectful way while we were in our room. To add insult to injury the Night Manager David, spends the rest of the evening gaslighting us on what happened. Zero accountability or awareness of respecting their patrons.
We had previously stayed at the hotel for our anniversary and decided to go again despite covid. We again found the hotel delightful, a true boutique hotel! Well finished and maintained, on the small side with some of the most agreeable, pleasant and accommodating staff to be found anywhere. A location in the downtown area that cannot be beaten. In my wife’s words, “it was perfect”!
The Wedgewood Hotel is my ultimate favourite place to stay in Vancouver. I always Recommend all my friends there whenever they visit tbe city , on business or pleasure trips. Tbe staff and service is five star, from tbe valet team up. Tbe rooms are beautifully and individually decorated. The bar and restaurant are wonderful and tbe location is perfect in tbe center if tbe city with walkable distance to shops. I’d recommend it to anyone seeking old world high quality hotel with an updated modern feel. Jon Paul Holt J
