I was at this hotel for a conference with my Son. We did not stay at the hotel but were in one of the hotel rooms of a friend. The hotel is definitely dated and in need of an upgrade. The room was large and had a small kitchenette. The hotel was full so the lines for the elevator were...

Needs updating. Double beds need to be changed to queens. Clean rooms but very dated. Concierge staff were very helpful even though they were very busy at times. If not for conference we would probably choose to stay somewhere closer to shopping/tourism.

The Coast Plaza is an older hotel on the west end; they refurbished the hotel sometime recently and I just loved it. The rooms are large and spacious with almost a wall of glass (and a large patio off my room) to look down over the city. Amazing view!!! It's within walking distance to all kinds of shops, restaurants, and...

Dear Guest: Thank you for your review. I am glad you enjoyed our charming hotel. As a second level contributor, travelers can rely on your opinion. I had never heard our multiple windows being described as a "wall of glass", but that description is a keeper. I look forward to welcoming you back again soon. Sincerely, Brian Rohl Hotel Manager

Great location for touring Vancouver. Clean & safe neighborhood, close to Stanley Park and Granville Island. Hotel staff were friendly and efficient. This is an older facility but very well maintained. I would not recommend the hotel restaurant. I found it to be over priced and under quality with limited selection.

My daughter and I stayed here, and for a very reasonable price we got a spacious 2-bedroom suite with a full kitchen. The beds were comfortable and the hotel was reasonably quiet. Despite its relative age, it was clean and in good repair. The staff was warm and friendly, and there was groceries and shopping very close by. Parking was...

Dear Guest: Thank you for your recent review. I appreciate your constructive comments regarding upgrading features of the rooms and hotels. The Coast Plaza is my first choice for a hotel in Vancouver. The service is second to none from check in, room service, restaurant to check out. Had a problem with a noisy room by the elevator room, but was accommodated quickly to another room that was quiet. The location close to English Bay and a walk to the city's...

I stayed at the Coast Plaza for one night as part of a business conference. The hotel is conveniently located in the West End of the city, very close to English Bay and a short walk to Robson Street. The hotel itself is a multi-story high-rise and of course the higher you are, the more magnificent the view. I had...

I stayed here for a conference, and the hotel is in a great location, lovely views of the city and ocean, right on a street filled with many restaurant choices, and on top of a shopping mall and grocery store. This is a pleasant, quiet, relaxed and friendly hotel. When there is a slight glitch it is immediately put right. Personnel are very approachable. The free internet access is important. Conference facilities including staff support are ideal. A very comfortable and business like stay

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along with the sunrise, offering breathtaking views at any time of day. The West End merges together so many looks and flavors probably because it functions a hub: its the leafy pit-stop between nightlife and entertainment venues along Davie Street, and the shopping paradise that is Robson Street, offering visitors beautiful parkland to rest on, and quick, easy food to re-fuel with in between ventures.
