We booked a trip with BC Ferries staying 3 nights at the Coast Plaza. The only thing that has changed is the bedding. They have triple sheeting which I really like. The rooms really need updating. Two of the 3 lamps in the room were missing bulbs. These were replaced quickly after we phoned but one has to wonder why...

I really cant complain about anything the staff were friendly the room was very clean and I will stay here again in the future. Coast plaza is right next to Denham st which is a stone throw from the beach so that was fantastic! Countless restaurant options literally around the corner with a huge bottle shop nearby and a pharmacy and a fruit shop. Great location indeed! My room had two queen beds so we could easily sleep 4 pax and the size of...

Excellent location with a short walk to the water and Stanley Park. Amazingly helpful front desk staff and spotless room. Bed pretty comfortable. The room was a good size and loved the balcony. Wish this hotel wasn't closing in November 2017. We will book it again this summer before they close to take our teenage girls up with us.

Great location and price for a downtown hotel. It is in the west end close to English Bay beach, the sea wall and Stanley Park. There are some great restaurants along Denman street you should check out (Nook and Espana). However, I hate to be picky, and I'm usually not, but there were some cons to this hotel. I have...

Stayed here for 3 nights on business. I liked the view, that it was close to Stanley Park and the staff seamed pleasant. The suite was very large but adorned with very dated appliances, typical 1970/80 hotel carpeting and furniture. The king bed was nice, well made up and comfortable. The TV in the bedroom would loose reception for a...

It's an older and dated property, but clean. Our room w the sitting area, pullout bed was v spacious. Fan in bathroom didn't work, making even short showers a steamy inconvenience. Lighting is pretty poor everywhere in suite, especially in kitchen... staff are friendly, in - out parking priviledges a perk. Real comfy beds.

Three features helped our conference enormously: Taking in the beauty of English Bay, being up with where white gulls soar, and access to fresh air (because the doors open) really helped keep us focussed and working! Hope we can return yearly.

One of the best choices if staying in Vancouver because the hotel is located adjacent to the downtown core in the so-called west end. You can ask for a room higher up and get a great view of English Bay without paying the higher prices for hotels at Canada Place. While not newly built, the hotel offers all basic services...

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along with the sunrise, offering breathtaking views at any time of day. The West End merges together so many looks and flavors probably because it functions a hub: its the leafy pit-stop between nightlife and entertainment venues along Davie Street, and the shopping paradise that is Robson Street, offering visitors beautiful parkland to rest on, and quick, easy food to re-fuel with in between ventures.

“My tip: Ask the concierge for porcelain cups, a kettle, spoons (and tea!) for your room. My group noticed that some suites had great kitchens. Yay. I enjoyed that I had a table to do work in my room. Whoops - the internet was weak. But overall, had a fantastic stay.”
