This is where you want to stay if your plan is to enjoy the food and shopping of Robson, and have a pleasant walk to the waterfront or Stanley Park. We didn't use the car once. The hotel was clean and met needs as they came up.
We stayed in downtown Vancouver for an event we were attending. The staff were so friendly and welcoming and they offered a wine reception that night (Friday). I actually wanted to attend but the timing was too tight for the event we had to attend. There were plenty of hangars in the closet (usually there is 2 or 3), the bathroom was renovated with separate room for the modern shower and toilet, and sink tucked in by the entry closet. Plenty of room for the two of us. There is a bar style tap to dispense still and sparkling water (near ice machine) so be sure to bring a reusable water bottle. They offer two glass carafes in the room as well for use while in the room. We stayed on the gallery floor which was nicely appointed with art pieces as you step out of the elevator on the lobby and gallery floors. The bed was firm and comfortable and the draped provided decent darkness. Our room faced Robson street but this is the quieter end, and the windows provided adequate noise buffering. The parking lot is unsecured, so be sure to empty out your car each night/day. The overnight parking rate allowed for parking until 2pm the day of checkout so we managed to fit in some Robson Street shopping after breakfast.…
This was one of the most comfortable hotel beds I have ever slept in. The rooms were clean, and the staff was very friendly and helpful at all times. We stayed here as part of our travel for a business workshop and all members were treated well.
Everyone was very friendly and helpful, the rooms need a bit TLC, furniture is a bit ran down but the bed was comfy. Toiletries are really bad quality. Very well located easy access to downtown area and shopping
I have high hopes for this hotel, considering it was supposed to be highly recommended only to be terribly disappointed. When you pay for an expensive room, you also expect more. Unfortunately, this hotel failed to satisfy my expectations. The promptness of service is poor. I requested a dental kit, to which they said they were going to send it to my room. I, however, waited for a long time, and I had to call again to the front desk to remind them. To make it worse, the person who knocked at my door who was supposed to deliver the said kit asked me what I was requesting. There was obviously a failure of communication. In addition, there is also this grating sound that if you are sensitive to noise, it will keep you awake in the night. My biggest gripe, however, was the malfunctioning cooler. As an avid traveler, I want to go back to the hotel room and drink a cold beer or chilled wine. Such expectation is justified, considering the room amenities are supposed to include that. The manager gave me suggestions of bringing an ice bucket; however, this is just a band-aid solution and still causes inconvenience since we all know drinks on an ice bucket will never be comparable in terms of the "cooling" effect provided by a cooler or a fridge. I suggested that since the cooler is just a small appliance, why don't we exchange the one in my room with a functioning one. I even offered to carry it myself if I needed to. To which she responded that it requires the maintenance people to do this. This retort baffled me because the appliance is detachable and easily replaced. The manager exhibited inflexibility in her decision-making process. She ended up promising that the maintenance person would come as early as 9 AM the next day. The maintenance person did not come not at 9, but at 11 AM. I suspect that maybe if I were a different type of "customer," the manager would have been more forthcoming. Such a shame; I think this hotel has the potential to become a beacon of customer service, especially since it is in a good location. If only they have better managers. I ended up cutting my stay. I would definitely not recommend this hotel to anyone.…
