The Executive Le Soleil Vancouver is one of the nicest hotels that I have stayed in, in a long time! Quite unnassuming on the main road apart from some fairy lights on the trees outside the front entrance (not sure if these are permanent or because it was Christmas time). I got a cab to the hotel from the airport as the hotel doesn't offer a shuttle service, it set me back about CAD$60 plus tip, so not cheap but a private car via the hotel was quoted at CAD$195 each way so the cab was a bargain. Check in was easy, polite and friendy staff and I was assisted with my luggage to the 5th floor. The hotel was decorated beautifully for Christmas with open fires and even a fire burning video on the TV in my room. My Executive One Bedroom Queen Suite didn't disappoint, the only issue I had was controlling the heating/cooling thermostat. Not much of a view but my bed was wonderful! I had 4nts here and looked forward to getting into it every night! It was so comfortable. Room had kettle, coffee maker and fridge with milk, tea and coffee pods supplied (unfortunately, the coffee was quite disgusting) but housekeeping gladly topped up my teabag supply. Hotel also supplied me with a microwave to reheat my leftovers. I have a slight mobility issue, and staff couldnt do enough for me. They helped me with ideas to get around Vancouver and to see the most of it without too much walking. Breakfast was included in the Aloutte Restaurant attached to the hotel and was lovely! Great choices from a simple Continental option to Smoked Salmon Benedict. Unfortunately, one morning the restaurant flooded due to a burst pipe and the hotel offered breakfast in a nearby restaurant instead however, as I couldnt walk the distance they gave me a credit on my final bill and I opted for Starbucks just across the road. Hotel, room and restaurant very 'olde worlde' and very French (but also meaning, very expensive) however, the food and atmosphere at Alouette was so good, I had to do dinner there every night as well. They happily boxed up anything that I couldnt eat so that I could take it back to my room, including any drinks that I ordered from the bar. I have written a separate review for the restaurant. Kudos to Verun, concierge, reception, valet and all staff at Executive Le Soleil, Vancouver. I wish I could have stayed longer.

Dear Jools, Thank you for your detailed and thoughtful review and the beautiful pictures of your stay at Executive Hotel Le Soleil Vancouver. We are delighted to hear that your experience with us was magnifique! It’s wonderful to know that you found our hotel beautifully decorated, especially during the festive season. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused by the temporary closure of Alouette due to the flooding, it was a logistical nightmare for us. It’s also lovely to know that you enjoyed dining at Alouette each night and appreciated the option to take your meals back to your room. Your kind words motivate us to continue delivering memorable experiences. We hope to welcome you back soon and wish you could have stayed longer as well! Warm Regards, Varun George Kuruvilla General Manager

First, I have to say this hotel is one of the best I have had the pleasure of staying at. What I describe next, it's me nitpicking :)

The suite was absolutely gorgeous, as was the bathroom, which was big and had both a shower and a bathtub. Except that they installed the shampoo/soap only in the shower, so if you wanted to take a bath... well, you couldn't. Unless you were prepared to get out of the bathtub each time you needed shampoo and then go back in.
Speaking of going in and out, shower caps are not provided and be prepared to walk out of the shower and go to the front desk, as they have some there. At least the bathrobes are very nice and snuggly :)
But all these are small things and pale compared to the breakfast experience.

First, Le Soleil is advertised as a French-style hotel, so of course, you would expect a nice selection of pastries, like chocolate croissants, crêpes, éclairs... and the list can go on. Instead... crickets. Nothing. There is no all-you-can-eat buffet, a very poor selection on the menu, and even less for kids. That part was extremely disappointing.

So, while I would give the hotel a 4.7-4.8 rating for the room, the breakfast experience is more like a 3 (and this is me being generous).
That being said, this is Vancouver, and the hotel is located among a myriad of restaurants, shops, and local attractions within walking distance. So don't worry, you won't be left hungry ;)

Dear Andreis, Thank you for your detailed feedback, and we're delighted to hear that you found our hotel to be one of the best you've stayed at! We truly appreciate your compliments about the suite, bathroom, and our convenient location in Vancouver. It’s great to know that you enjoyed the comfort of your room, and we’ll make sure to pass along your kind words about the bathrobes! Regarding the points you mentioned, we’re sorry for any inconvenience with the placement of the shampoo and soap, we are currently looking at options on how best to add additional amenities next to the bathtubs. Based on you suggestion we have already added shower caps as standard amenity in all our rooms. We’re especially grateful for your comments about the breakfast offerings. While we aim to offer a memorable experience, we regret that the selection didn’t meet your expectations, particularly for a French-inspired hotel. Your feedback will certainly be shared with our team as we explore ways to improve and offer a wider variety that better reflects the experience we wish to provide. Thank you once again for your constructive feedback and for highlighting the positives of your stay. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back and provide an even better experience next time. Warm regards, Varun George Kuruvilla General Manager

This is our hotel when we stay in Vancouver. The location is ideal when flying in from out of town as the train station is just blocks away and easy to access by foot. The hotel staff are some of the friendliest people we have had the pleasure of meeting and are very accommodating. The rooms, we have stayed at many different types in this hotel, are kept clean, temperature is comfortable and well stocked with glasses, coffee and toiletries. Alouette Bistro in the hotel is an adorable addition to the theme of the hotel. The ambience is calm, yet cool and classy. Perfect for a happy hour cocktail or a relaxing dinner. We highly recommend this hotel to our family and friends when they visit beautiful Vancouver.

The property is very warm and welcoming, excellent hospitality and service from the moment you enter the lobby. Check in was very pleasant. The rooms are nicely appointed with good product. There are wine glasses a corkscrew and coffee maker/tea in the room for convenience. Bottled water is supplied and replenished as requested not just upon arrival. There is a safe in the room, robes and slippers. A wonderful little French Bistro Alouette on premises with good food and an elegant Vibe for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There are many options for eats in the area it’s a short walk to Canada Place and the Convention Centre where you’ll find more options for food and drink waterfront. The hotel is kept very clean and well maintained. A luxury stay for business or pleasure.

This is a beautiful hotel with very attentive staff. We had an extremely comfortable bed, L'Occitane hotel amenities (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion) and plush towels. Excellent location, particularly pre- or post-cruise. The breakfast, which can be included, at Alouette Bistro was delicious.

Stayed here for 2 nights at the beginning of our 3 week road trip, (3 adults and 1 toddler). We had a booking privilege on our hotel booming site that gave us free valet parking. That came in very handy for our hire car.
The staff in the hotel were all lovely and very helpful. The rooms were lovely with a lounge area and bedroom. The shower was great. The rooms did get quite warm so we had to use the air con, unfortunately the that was very noisy everytime it would kick in.
Great location easy walk to the gastown clock and waterfront. We only really had 1 full day in Vancouver and we managed to fit in a whale watching tour fron granville island too.

The French restuarant..... if you have breakfast included in yiur booking, you are given breakfast vouchers at check in. (They did not issue 1 for our daughter)
The first breakfast we had was lovely, but we did have to pay extra for extra sausage s so that our daughter could have some (her favourite) and we shared other things from the other breakfasts.
We booked a dinner for after our full day in Vancouver. The service was painfully slow, when it came to ordering, I decided just to have a starter, I was hungry but it was getting late and didn't fancy a full meal. We had made sure our daughter had eaten before and again they do not cater for children with a menu of their own.
Our final breakfast was not as good as the first, and this time our daughter asked for some yoghurt. We asked the waitress if it was possible to get a small portion of yoghurt (when asking for extras it is always met with "There will be a charge for that" ) We obviously understood and asked what the price would be...she went to find out, 10 minutes later arrived at the table with a huge bowl of plain yoghurt and put in front of our daughter without saying a word! The yoghurt in the bowl was as big as our daughters head! It was a stupid amount of yoghurt for even 3 adults.

We would stay at the hotel again if travelling Vancouver but would avoid the restuarant, unless they added a children's breakfast menu.....

This was our second visit to Le Soleil in Vancouver. We really like the hotel. It is a small-ish boutique hotel that has great staff and wonderful facilities. This visit, we stayed in 1206. The room was spacious and even though the room fronts the Main Street (Horner) was very quiet.

Having the Alouette restaurant on the ground floor is a major bonus. The restaurant is very comfortable and serves great food. It has a wonderful ambiance with the movie Casablanca playing in the bar.

The hotel location is a couple of blocks from the main shopping mall, Robson the main shopping street and Canada Place where cruises dock and seaplanes fly.

Overall, a fantastic hotel that has a great location, restaurant and service.

Le Soleil is the best hotel! I had stayed here over the weekend with my girlfriend to celebrate her birthday and this hotel made the occasion even more special. Everything about the hotel had exceeded my expectations and will surely be our #1 hotel to visit. I have never met such kind and accommodating staff that make you feel like they care about you; and not being treated like a ‘customer’, but rather a genuine feeling of care in which they treat you like you are their friend and will go above and beyond to help. The managers and the front desk staff were very quick and informative. They all had big smiles on their faces that made us feel so welcomed and had also taken the time to chat with us while checking us in and had greeted my girlfriend a happy birthday. That small gesture alone, is something we had appreciated very much. The bellmen were also very helpful. They had greeted us at the door and although we had no car to park, they had assisted us with our bags without being asked as our hands were full. The housekeeping staff were also very kind as we would run into them in the hallways sometimes but they would still greet us as they were getting rooms cleaned. The concierge had given us great suggestions on where to eat and what to do in the city as we were there for a concert the first night but had no idea what to do for the second, and with his suggestions, it made the second day a lot easier to plan. The location of the hotel made it very easy for us to get a lot done, and see Vancouver in such a short amount of time. The Alouette Bistro also had amazing food! Also, big thanks to the managers for the wine, it was a pleasant surprise! We enjoyed staying at Le Soleil very much and we will surely be back!

My friend and I had a wonderful stay here in the first week of January.

The property is perfectly located downtown, only a short walk to many great restaurants, the waterfront and shopping destinations.

Our suite was comfortable, spacious and immaculately cleaned. We also adored the cozy fireplace and couches in the hotel lobby. As first time visitors to Vancouver we were so grateful to have such a welcoming place to come back to after cold days exploring the city!

The included breakfasts at Allouette next door were delicious and great value for money. Restaurant staff were always friendly and accomodating for our dietary requirements.

All of the hotel staff went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our stay. In particular, Karina at the front desk who organised an early check in and fun turndown service on New Years Eve!

I have already recommended this hotel to family visiting Vancouver soon and I can’t wait to return myself.
