We stayed at the Westin Bayshore on May 14 and 15. We had a wonderful stay. The check in was fine. However, I find it annoying that they have separate counter for the BonVoy members, yet no where to line up for that counter. The wait wasn't that long, but it always annoys me when someone comes in after me and jumps the line, when I am a BonVoy member too. I believe the Westin gave me one of their lower end rooms, although, I thought the room had a tremendous view of the harbor and the mountains. It was great. The room was just a bit small, but very comfortable. The staff at the hotel was great. The housekeeping staff did a wonderful job. The other odd thing about the room was the shower door, or lack of one. The Westin does not have a shower door. My wife commented on how much water I managed to get on the bathroom floor during my shower and how she managed not get any water on the floor during her shower. I wasn't aware taking a shower was a contest with my wife, but, nevertheless, I prefer to have a shower door on the shower. Due to the rain, we had 2 dinners at the hotel restaurant. The service was very good. The menu is a bit too casual for me. I would have preferred a better selection of entries instead of sandwiches. Regardless, the blueberry cheesecake for dessert was tremendous. The hotel is just steps away from Stanley Park. I had the opportunity to run in that gorgeous park for 3 days. If you like to run, this is a great hotel due to the location next to Stanley Park. In our past trips to Vancouver, we stayed at the JW Marriott. The JW is a nice hotel, too, but the Westin has it beat due to its location next to the Park and the harbor. We would highly recommend the hotel. I know we will return to this hotel in the future.…
Nice place. They have a restaurant (H-20) had dinner and breakfast. It ww good and waitresses were great. We were told we had s view of pool and bay…. Not even close. I do have a suggestion for management; the tv and desk should be switched. The desk would be better by the window snd the tv would be better in front of the bed, in fact the cable hook up is under the desk and electricity. I don’t know what we paid, it was part of cruise package.
Great hotel! We stayed here before catching a Princess Cruise to Alaska. Room was exceptionally clean with a view of the harbor and mountains. Ate dinner and breakfast in the restaurant downstairs, H2 and it was delicious both times!! Hotel and restaurant staff were absolutely wonderful!!! Definitely recommend.
After paying the full amount of my stay upon my arrival April 20th, the management kept billing my Visa account every day telling me it was only preauthorizations while in fact my account was billed for over 1000$. They tried to refund but it did not work, managers had non control on the accounting system. They told me my account would be refund on the night of me departure, April 24th but it took 10 days to refund my account .after my departure. This is definitively not the standards expected from Westin.
No lounge in hotel and no alternatives were offered for MB Platinum members by front desk. Staff seem not to know what to do when I asked and explained. Room seen older and not renovated. Car parking was expensive and a fair walk away. Not an enjoyable stay.
Beautiful views, great location. Didn’t use the pool but it looked amazing. The sliding doors in the room were a bonus. The location was very walkable. We had breakfast downstairs in the hotel and it was great.
Location on Coal Harbour is awesome and was super convenient for the Marathon. Other than that our stay was very underwhelming and not up to the old standard of the Bayshore of year's past. We had requested a view room, which was not met, unless you count the low level roof and swimming pool a view. The room had very little soundproofing with lots of noise from both in the hallway, and outside. The bed was obviously older and not that comfortable. Most disappointing was the poor and non-existent customer service. At check in we got shouted at. When we called down for a robe (only one was provided) to go to the pool, we were told that wasn't possible as they were out. Had to call down 3 times for some bowls and eventually just went to restaurant and asked them as I got tired of waiting. Really clear that this hotel is just coasting on it's excellent harbour location and past reputation. I'm sure even the manager's response to this will be a form response.…
The Westin Bayshore is really an outstanding choice in Vancouver. Downtown restaurants and other attractions are within walking distance, but one has the sense that one is immersed in nature when at this hotel. The water views are sublime and the service is friendly and efficient. During our stay we’ve initiated service requests via the Bonvoy app, and the responses from the front desk have been immediate. I cannot say enough about this very well managed hotel in a perfect west coast setting.
Check-in process was breeze. We were quite early for check-in (~10am). However, staff accommodated our early check-in. We got a room with harbor view and it was amazing. There are so many local coffee shops and cafes around the hotel which was an added bonus. Hotel also has bikes that we used to go ride in Stanley park which is a minute away. The room was sparkly clean when we checked-in. Room service was also good in our 3 day stay.
Every time we stay here, our experience seems to get better and better even after being gone for over 2 years due to the pandemic. This would be my first choice of hotels when staying in Vancouver, especially with family. Front desk has its own Bonvoy line that caters to the Bonvoy Gold/Elite members so check in a breeze. My Platinum Elite status was recognized, and we were upgraded to a Harbor View corner room at the far tower. I also received the option for 1000 points or 2 free breakfasts, and since I was travelling with family, I opted for the free breakfasts. Breakfast was served until 11pm and consisted of a buffet or a la carte. I ordered the standard 2 egg breakfast, and the extra crispy bacon was perfect! The hotel also has its own restaurants with ‘sphere’ type outdoor seating/tables that is worth checking out. I think these ‘spheres tables’ became popular due to the pandemic distancing rules so may not be available for long… The room was on the 15th floor and looked out to the harbor, Stanley Park and part of the city. Bed was very comfortable and pillows crisp and fluffy. Shower had the rain shower head and included its own set of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash so you don’t need to bring your own unless you want too. I requested a late 4pm checkout, but due to capacity was only give until 2pm which still worked out. Location of this property is excellent with Stanley Park just 5 minutes away which I highly recommend renting a bike and biking completely around it on a sunny day. The center of Robson Street is a 3 block/10-minute walk where you will find plenty of shopping a variety of good authentic restaurants (and Ramen). Definitely coming back with my family! Other Useful Tips: 1. Park your vehicle yourself at the parking lot 1 block outside the hotel for $25/night vs. at the hotel. Download the “Pay by Phone” app and use Location “4729”. You can always drop your luggage off at the hotel, then park your own vehicle afterwards. 2. Two good Seafood restaurants that worth considering are right outside the hotel (less than 1 minute walk). You should DEFINITELY try to make reservations in advance: Cardero’s and Lift (sit outdoors if possible!) 3. The Harbour Air terminal is less than 10-minute walk so you can consider taking a flight somewhere for the day like Victoria as part of your vacation experience. 4. Outdoor pool is heated, and I thought was better than the indoor pool & hot tub. There are plenty of daybeds to choose from. There is also a deep 8 feet area which is not typical for today’s pools which are typically no more than 3-4 feet pools. They also now provide heated towels! 5. There is a coffee bar at the first floor besides the front desk, however there is also a good Café right outside the hotel that serves good local coffee. 6. You can rent bikes directly from the hotel, or there is a bike rental right outside the hotel besides the Café with more options. Also consider bringing your bathing suits when you bike Stanley Park because there is an outdoor pool beside the ocean that the kids would love.…
