Everything at this hotel is just okay. The rooms are comfortable and the staff are very polite. I wouldn't make a big deal of eating in the restaurant. Although there is a new chef coming so things could change. The parking is $40 for valet and I'm not sure if it is cheaper if you self park. I was most...

I stayed at the Sutton Place Hotel the weekend of March 1st for the first time. At first, I was unimpressed because the valet service was so terrible (no offer to help me with my bags and not prompt). However, the room was nicely appointed and I thought the bed was very comfortable. The location is great (one block south...

Clean, well appointed room if just a little dated. The hotel is in a good position, close to Robson street for shopping & restaurants. Enjoyed the spa located in the hotel. Just one of those hotels which like to overcharge for the extras. $40 night for self parking, $15 a day for internet access. $6.50 for a bottle of water...

Liked the room, it was clean and bed for comfortable. Hotel was very quite so no problems sleeping. Had to do a bit of searching to find the in room coffee maker. It was hidden away in a cabinet. It would be nicer if there was a fan in the bathroom, over head lighting was better and they did not...

Stayed at Sutton Place in Feb 2014 as a "Mystery Hotel" on a high-end traveler website. The Sutton's styling is quite dated, with the interior last redecorated in a 90s "grand hotel" kind of look (polished brass and marble fixtures in the bath, gold and white wallpaper, faux antique furniture, pictures of flowers on the walls). Elevators were noisy and...

Stayed in lots of the downtown Vancouver hotels. I like all of them for various reasons. My first stay at the Sutton Place has me convinced this is the go to place in town - great location, amazing service, large rooms, and most comfortable beds yet.

What a wonderful hotel, every single person I encountered was fantastic, the room was wonderful and the extra effort of everyone was fabulous. Dinner at Flueri was lovely and the service was amazing. If you are staying in Vancouver you should choose the Sutton, join the prestige program, for special deals. My package included the choice of 2 perks, I...

This is another of those hotels that puts a lot of money into looking the part of a fine establishment only to fail at true service. They want to charge you for everything (internet - $20/day, parking - $40/day, local phone call - $1.50) or up-sell amenities like bedding and coffee. For a place that presents itself as a luxury,...

Great location just off Robson St. We had a premium king room on the 17th floor facing west. We had peek a boo views of Mountains and ocean. Bed was very comfortable and the room was nicely appointed. Some pieces of furniture are showing their age but overall very nice. Would definitely stay here again.

I have an annual business trip to Vancouver and I make it a point to stay at the Sutton Place Hotel. The staff is incredibly helpful and address your every need. I made the mistake of staying at another hotel last year and I was not impressed. If you are looking for a comfortable, luxurious, and centrally located hotel then...

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along with the sunrise, offering breathtaking views at any time of day. The West End merges together so many looks and flavors probably because it functions a hub: its the leafy pit-stop between nightlife and entertainment venues along Davie Street, and the shopping paradise that is Robson Street, offering visitors beautiful parkland to rest on, and quick, easy food to re-fuel with in between ventures.
