Stayed in the garden suite for 3 weeks and the accommodation proved to be a fantastic and spotlessly clean place to stay. Margaret could not have been more helpful and we felt very much at home. Great choice of convenience stores and restaurants nearby and a lovely walk takes you along to Kitsilano which is such a wonderful area of... More

We were in Vancouver to visit our daughter and the site is convenient to UBC and close to all Kits has to offer. It is truly a suite - part of a converted coach house we coveted but was booked. There was a welcome basket of fruit and a small kitchen with coffeemaker, small fridge, dishwasher and microwave. There was... More

We stayed here for 4 nights and were very pleased with our choice. On previous visits to Vancouver we stayed in a downtown hotel, but now that we've discovered this charming option we will be staying here when visiting Vancouver. Easily found in a quiet neighbourhood in Kitsilano, this accommodation is in close walking distance to restaurants and Jericho Beach.;... More

My husband and I rented the Garden Suite for eight nights in total. Lovely, clean accommodations with the bonus of laundry facilities. Very close to unique restaurants and shopping. Great walking area....beautiful homes and gardens to enjoy! We will be returning again and will definitely look into staying here again.

This has been our Vancouver home away from home for several years now. Margaret's warm and thoughtful hospitality, the delightful studio and suite, the perfect location - they come together for a wonderful experience. Two blocks from English Bay, four blocks from Jericho beach, easy access to UBC, in the midst of the fun and interesting atmosphere of Kitsilano. Both... More

Why stay in a hotel when you could have all this? My boyfriend and I stayed in the studio suite for 4 nights and really enjoyed ourselves. The suite was well furnished with everything we needed and the access to the laundry facilities was much appreciated. It's a lovely part of Vancouver and we took advantage of the proximity to... On arrival the apartment was generously supplied with initial provisions of fruit, bread, milk, breakfast cereal, soups etc. Free telephone and Internet were provided and Mark the owner was very helpful. Several Vancouver friends who saw the apartment regarded it as a “find”, because there are no hotels in this part of the city.

I contacted Margaret Olney about a 1 week stay during the Olympics. She immediately responded (via e-mail) that the time I requested was open. I sent an e-mail back saying I would like to book the suite. Margaret did not return mutiple phone messages or e-mails over the following week. When I finally reached her via her cell phone, she... Margaret O, Manager at Kitsilano Garden Suites, responded to this review

The person who complained first contacted me in early January 2010, the year of the Olympics in Vancouver. As we all know, Vancouver was the destination for the world for February 2010 and therefore inquiries for suites increased immensely and everyone was asking for the same two weeks of February. I had numerous daily inquiries for my two suites in... More

My wife and I recently returned from a most enjoyable extended stay at the 1 bedroomed Kitsilano Garden Suite. The prime purpose of our visit was to attend our son's wedding in Vancouver, and subsequently we were accompanied by our daughter and her boyfriend, who stayed in the adjoining Studio Suite. Both suites are exceptionally spacious and comfortable, and are very... More

Staying in Kitsilano

Neighbourhood Profile
Kitsilano
Kitsilano is one of Vancouver's most transformative neighbourhoods. With a long history of coffee culture and poetry readings, its days of flower children and buskers may be long-gone, but not without leaving their mark on the number of organic restaurants and fair-trade cafes in the area. At the centre of Kitsilano ("Kits" for short) the almost idyllic expanse of Kits Beach offers the opportunity for a relaxed afternoon of beach volleyball or sunbathing. Along with the beachfront, nearby public pools and trendy street-beats have driven up the homeowners prices, making it a haven for stylish home goods stores, from design and furniture, to supplies and appliances. The multitude of both families and public spaces also make it a happening neighbourhood in the summer, when festivals and fairs take to Kits' streets.
